Forrest Griffin: Suspect Chin?

I predicted this 100%. Can’t believe people even mentioned “Silva on the decline” cause of his last couple fights, that’s all he really could do in the fight.
Silva is a man that loves to bang.

Looked like a bad gameplan. He stood and struck with Silva, which, well… was a bad idea. As a result Forrest got outclassed in this fight pretty badly. I still think he has the tools to put up more of a fight, but Silva negated him last night. I also think he realised that the second he got out of that coma, and ran out of the arena in shame.

On the flip-side, looks like the Spider heard the boos from the last two outings. That was fucking entertaining! He played to the crowd and toyed with Griffin the second he figured him out. Loved seeing the guy who blasted Franklin, Hendo and Nate back in action.[/quote]

he ran out because he broke his jaw and could not hear from one side. Good reason to get medical help right away.

Griffin got tooled because he was chosen to highlight Silva’s skill set… I was rooting for him, but didn’t think he’d get pwned so hardcore.

I’ve watched the fight again and again and I seriously can’t remember the last guy who actually did so well in exchanges against silva. I think people have to start thinking of silva as the roy jones of mma, and NOT standing and trading with him! I love forrest, and yeah that was an embarrassing end, but if you go back and actually watch the fight… he really did pretty decent for being rocked twice.

I have to echo what everyone else has said, in that Silva reminds me remarkably of RJJ (one of my favorite boxers of all time).

Thanks I didn’t know. Though it turns out those were just rumors.

I honestly didn’t think Forrest’s gameplan would not include a single takedown attempt

I never watched much MMA, but I’m in awe with Silva. The speed, the technique. :open_mouth:

Duly noted.

Man, I feel bad for Griffin. People on the internet are dogging him for leaving the arena after the fight. If we think about it, the guy was a champion in his division and worked hard just like everybody else. He may not have thought he can beat Silva but probably thought he can at least give Silva a fight. Then he gets beat like the way he did. It’s almost like Silva negated what he worked hard to become (a fighter). He probably felt like piece of a shit afterward. I don’t blame him for running out like that - whether it’s because of going to the hospital or simply sheer embarrassment. Not necessarily the right thing to do but understandable.

I hope Silva do get a chance to fight and beat Roy Jones in boxing. Silva deserves the chance, the guy is so good why just keep it in MMA? Plus that would give MMA an even bigger exposure. I just wish through some divine intervention, Dana White will miraculously decide to let Silva do boxing while still under UFC contract. Ok, we know that ain’t happening. But people have won mega millions lottery so we’ll never know…
