Hi all!
I’ve been lifting on and off for a few years and haven’t deadlifted in some time. I wanted to improve on my deadlift and have finally decided to make a quick video in hopes to get pointers. This is me lifting 345x3, I’ve pulled as much as 425 for a single.
Any tips/critiques would be appreciated!
I apologize for the bad layout. Will try getting the video flipped.
might as well just do good mornings. you’re not getting your hips down at all, your torso is literally parallel to the floor when you start your first rep.
i will say your hip drive at the top is good, but i bet if you squat down more your glutes would still get more out of it.
Thanks! I made that observation as well after watching the video several times. Have been practicing throughout the day without weights to help drill that movement pattern into my head.
Looks to me like you started hyper-extending your back on the last rep or two
Initiate the pull from your hamstrings - consciously activate them. Finish the pull with your glutes. Keep your chest up and don’t let your shoulders drop.
Don’t round your lower back either.
