For the Haters of DW

man that frame carry looks bad-ass !

did you press that log ?

what are your thoughts on the show and future training ?[/quote]

No, I didn’t press the log. I failed to clean the log with two attempts and I finally got it on the third try, but I was out of time after the clean and out of gas anyway.

The competition was heavy for a guy like me who doesn’t have stones or tires, but it was still fun as hell to compete against Robbie ‘Pocket Hercules’ Walden. He even helped me before and during the show in terms of questions, advice, etc. I also got another chance to hang out with Jesse and meet the rest of the Sequim Crew. It was definitely a good learning experience for me and another good contest in the DW record books.

I plan to use a routine from the book, ‘Rock Iron Steel’ written by Steve Justa which calls for many sets of singles with either one lift (i.e. deadlift) or three lifts (i.e. deadlift, squat and overhead press) and train either every day or every other day, depending on the routine.

You can’t see the H2 Hummer in this Arm-Over-Arm Pull pic, but it still looks cool anyway.

This pic was done after the competition.

This is me bombing when trying to flip the 700lb tire which was the first part of the medley event.

Your tan looks like mine.

Nice work, DW. I’m really surprised at the lack of competitors in the lighter weight classes. It seems to be a niche small enough that you can do quite well at. Keep up the hard work!

Thanks. Yeah, most people who compete in strongman seem to be big dudes, tall and thick. I can’t increase my height, so I’ll keep working on the latter.

I found more pics. This is a group shot shortly before we started the competition.

This is another frame carry pic.

another log pic

This is when I finished the log clean.

Looking good DW,

Still listening to the old Lamb of God?

I have the same tan myself, do you love propane as much as I do?

DW, no matter what anybody says, you’ve got your nuts out on the chopping block and you’re proving your mettle in competition.

Your back looks pretty good in that last stone pic.

How far did you get on the frame carry?

How many stones did you get up?

I carried the frame 118 feet and I was very close to loading the first stone which was 230lbs.

Thanks, Kainjer.

The spacing seemed really far out for the frame like your arms were overextended. For smaller competitors do they have different equipment? Also the stone platform looks to suck for somebody short also.

And propane accessories.

Ninety percent of the game is just showing up. Nice pics and strong work.
