Aromatase Inhibitor. The process of the body converting testosterone into estrogen is called aromatase. An AI stops that from happening, and subsequently lowers serum estrogen levels.
Your a better man than I am @bmbrady77 lol
I just wanted to chime in on this. I’ve been battling estrogen for the last year… feel like total shit most days. Headsches, blood pressure issues, anxiety, bloated af, straight numb and bitchy all the time… thought it was high e2. Every time I go to the doctor my e2 was around 18 ( felt fine the days I got blood drawn) test usually around 950, shbg at 20… I tried everything. ED shots etc… nothing ever changed. It was the worst roller coaster of my life… finally just started testing blood on my own. Been taking 60 mg twice a week with .5 arimidex at Iinjection time. Every day I take a shot I have a super migraine that won’t go away with advil. Got my first blood test back this week. I will never take arimidex again… mind you thia wasn’t a sensitive test. So it was even lower… I haven’t taken adex in four days now and am already feeling better.
Usually what most men find when they stop ai. Good for you. Sounds like you were crashing your e2 . pretty common for most men who are given ai wirh trt. Enjoy and don’t worry about estrogen anymore. Many of the guys here ended up where you are after chasing their estrogen ![]()
If you want to raise your E2 faster drink a beer at night time for a week. Helped me recover twice as fast the second time I crashed E2. The word arimidex makes me cringe now.
@dfwraptorguy were you experiencing this bloating with low e? I’ve been having a similar issue and can’t seem to correlate it to high e or low e.
The funny thing is I drink beer almost every night… and it was still that low…
And @dextermorgan yes. In fact the day that I went to get blood drawn I felt especially bloated. My wrists were retaining fluid as well as my ankles. I would get moon face really bad as well… I’ve been dealing with blood pressure issues for a while and it’s also gotten slightly better since I dropped the arimidex. Maybe elasticity of the vein? I dunno. All I know is I won’t be taking the shit anymore and I’ll be testing blood every couple weeks
Sounds like you should up your beer dose to 24oz daily. Totally kidding
Yes it will continue to get better. It will cause some bloating now that you are keeping normal levels. Just give it time and it will dissipate and any itchy nipples and etc will also disappear within a short period of time. Your blood pressure will normalize if you had normal BP before trt. Try some Cialis if you can, that has helped many a man with BP . Even healthy men benefit from a daily dose.
I had all of this when I started TRT and its all gone now and I feel fantastic, BP is normal, no water retention, no itchy nipples, or anything else. For whatever reason our body takes time to adapt to an influx of hormones after years of declining hormone levels. Im thinking receptors open up and absorb more and more as the days pass. can’t say exactly, just that this is what I’ve noticed with myself and dozens of other guys who ive talked with.
I stopped my AI (adex at 0.125 mg 2X per week) about a week and a half ago. I also lowered my HCG from 330 IU 3X per week to 200 iu 3X per week (been doing that for about 1.5 months).
I am not sure if placebo, or not, but I have been feeling noticeably better. I was going through quite the depressive state for the last couple months, and had lots of anxiety. I still have the anxiety a bit, but it is lower. Mood is better. Going to ride this out and see how I feel. I actually think 150 IU 3X a week on the HCG might be better. I got no shrinkage going from 330 to 200 iu, and I figure the less stuff the better.
Patience is a virtue especially with TRT. I thought everyone was a bit over blowing the AI thing, but I am starting to think people might have been right on that one. Hopefully the depression and anxiety stay away now.
@dextermorgan the past few months I’ve drank pretty heavily. Mainly because that’s the only time I would come out of my hole and feel like myself again… probably from estrogen spike from the beer. But it’s only a temporary fix. Literally have felt like a menopausal woman for the past few months. Fuck! I’m ready to feel normal again! Lolol
@enackers the daily cialis doesn’t give you headaches? I tried that for a little bit but my head just throbbed. Not really sure if that was the low e2 or a combo of the two… but, blood pressure was ALWAYS normal and in some cases low.
Hang in there. It took me quite a while before I felt good on TRT and even longer to feel great. Once you get there it’s worth it.
Woah, this thread is back? The individual who created this particular subthread left the website like six months ago
If u take the cialis once in a while you are more likely to feel symptoms. If u take everyday, the symptoms should go away after about a week.
Yah for a few days and then it goes away.
So update since dropping the arimidex… headaches completely gone, sex drive is back, little bloated but not too bad… anxiety is almost completely gone (Really struggled with this for almost a year)…but my tits hurt like a MF And are puffy. I’m gonna stay on my dosing and ride it out. No arimidex. I’ll pick up some nolvadex if it doesn’t go away.
Good plan buddy. I like it
Awesome @dfwraptorguy
Ai is poison. This statement will drive a couple people nuts but if you are on a proper trt dose you do not need an AI period. If you do for a strange obscure reason than you probably have some undiagnosed condition
