Meh, we actually don’t know the full extent long term marijuana use has on the brain, particularly the developing brain. I’ve seen individuals (friends) suffer bouts of acute psychosis on marijuana. It’s very offputting, I’ve heard of sustained schizophrenia developing from heavy and/or long term marijuana use. However I believe it’s largely up to genetic predisposition.
That being said this is a topic for another thread, this has gone wayyyyy off topic
Drinking IS more dangerous, however that’s not an excuse to say one should be using marijuana recreationally as neither are good for you.
How do I know this? How do I figure this out. No clue where to start.
Once you reach a good level of hormones in the blood how long does it take to reap the benefits of this? Days or weeks. I’ve been researching and can’t find why it wouldn’t be beneficial except the estrogen being high.
Most of the marijuana users I know are highly successful in IT engineering or in the biomedical field. Anecdotal perhaps but you cannot generalize a marijuana user.
CBD does not have thc bros. Check it out. I know several people who use it for better sleep; anxiety and mood. It also works for inflation and pain for many. It’s a big deal right now. The government finally accepted its medicinal uses.
That’s how I find it @NH_Watts. Sativa = head high, can function fine and feels uplifting. Indica = body hit, couch lock, harder to get stuff done. It works for my nerve pain, I tried lyrica on prescription and I couldn’t function for days, it was horrific, so was amiltriptyline, I could hardly get out of bed and these are prescription drugs doctors throw at people.
I like both strains sativa for day time and indica for nights after everything is done for the day lol the downside to sativa is it takes an extra few weeks to flower them, but worth the wait. I’ve never met anyone who had psychosis on weed, only a few teenagers who exaggerate there experience. Bit like having there first beer and claiming there polexed drunk. It does effect my memory at times and slowed reactions. I’m still here 20 years later haha
Like all drugs, individuals react differently. Some people can use marijuana daily and be fine - others can’t function. I think it also has its place; that being said, the arguments that it’s totally without side effects aren’t right. It’s all a balancing act. If the benefits outweigh the good - go for it. It’s way damn safer than most pharmaceuticals.
I totally agree. I know he was the exception to the rule. Also he suffered from FLD which is what he died from. I often wonder if the weed didn’t have something to do with that.
I cant function after smoking marijuana. That’s why I haven’t touched the stuff in 19 years. My wife doesnt like it either. We have alot of friends we hang out with. All married couples with children. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM SMOKE WEED. We are the odd balls around here. It kind of alienates us like we are outsiders. I keep telling my wife we need to start making other friends but she isnt interested.
All my friends smoke marijuana too… Quite a lot… And cigarettes, juuls etc. I’m the odd one out as I won’t touch a cigarette and I’m very reluctant to inhale anything into my lungs, I also refuse to use anything with nicotine in it as I think it’s stupid. I find it doesn’t really matter, if they’re legitimately good friends they won’t pressure you and they’ll accept you for what you are. I don’t have that many friends, but the few friends I do have are very good friends.
That being said in an occasional social situation im not opposed to having a joint on RARE occasions. For me there’s no benefit other than the fact that it’s fun and reduces anxiety, and sometimes it’s good to have a bit of fun
Anyway let’s talk about aromatase inhibitors again
I tried this stuff too, turned me into a zombie and destroyed short and long term memory and ability to function. In school I couldn’t remember where I was supposed to sit, where my locker was, people’s names etc.
Not exaggerating, the psychotic episode I saw a friend of mine acquire (given he had issues, was abused extensively as a child) was extreme. I also know of another individual who was a heavy smoker and had to be admitted to hospital for psychosis, this episode wasn’t acute either, it was prolonged, lasted months.
It’s better than alcohol. I’d rather have a thc habit than alcohol … nothing wrong with it. People never kill on thc. They just eat, love, and laugh or zombie out.
I vaporize it, with the oil pens. I also can’t smoke before or during work - though I don’t display obvious signs of being stoned, I work in a trade where screwing up can cost $15K in an instant, and math and steady hands are required, so I don’t trust myself (or anyone else) to do it while under the influence of anything. I just deal with the anxiety during the day and relax at night. I come off as a friendly, outgoing person, so I’m not running around looking like I’m at my wit’s end, or anything. It calms me down after a long day, and helps me sleep when my head is racing.
I remember it always being there, along with a bit of OCD, but it was probably exacerbated by a couple deployments with the Marines. I’m a positive person, a fun dad, and constant wise-ass, but for as long as I can recall, there’s been a weight on my chest most days.
That’s good and why many use it. Better than Xanax or alcohol imo.
I saw that dan belzarian character and some dudes getting ripped before hitting the gym. I had a friend who uses to love getting high then working out. What’s up with that? I can see smoking right after that would be fantastic.
Arnold used to burn one after working out. It’s a muscle relaxer. As for using before or during working out, with the increased heart rate and muscle relaxing properties, that’s a stupid fucking idea.
