Food Weight Labels

Hey guys,

I have a general question and i may sound somewhat stupid for asking, but here goes:

On a can of tuna or corn (this probably applies to all other foods too), is the listed NET WEIGHT including the water/oil thats in the can+contents of the can+can, or just the contents, or the contents + water/oil?

Thanks

anyone?

oh, and by ‘contents’ i mean the corn or tuna. sorry.

The term net weight refers to the weight of the solids and the liquid. Look for a measure indicated as drained weight to know the actual weight of the solids.

thanks MD
