Love the pics, in particular the one that looks like your having iron sushi for dinner.
You look fantastic.

Nice photos and flexibility for the half lotus
bicep looks great!
Can you take pics of me when you show up to fix my meals?
Nice deadlift prs. What a great feeling it is right?
I’m with Joe on the pictures. I looove the eating the iron picture. You’re really creative and clearly see things that others can’t until they’re pointed out. Does that make sense? It’s a cool way to look at the world and see more than others do.
I’m with snap on the belief in less is more. I really changed my training this past year and cut out a lot of shit. Not surprisingly, this is when I’ve seen my biggest gains. My conditioning may suck ass at the moment but my strength is good. A wise man once said, “More is not better. More is just more”.
Check out all the PRs happenin’ over here! You are killing it. What enormous progress on your squats, and a deadlift PR too!
The knife and fork in the dumbbell pic is priceless. What a great idea! And, of course, looking hawt. Remember, my avi picture was done by a talented pro. Yours is so similar and you should be proud you did it yourself.
Hey you!
The pics are wonderful! I too love the dumbbells for dinner - but I also really LOVE the pushup position. The light illuminates all those muscles perfectly…so gorgeous.
LOL! don’t check language for me! I fucking love your potty mouth ![]()
You are absolutely keeling the training sessions! Well done on the pause ATG, I bow down…
Ditto, love the eating iron for dinner pic! You are very creative
Thanks for dropping by and commenting on the pics everyone!
Snap - I would love to do a photography session and cook for you!
O- the way you said that, that’s exactly it. My vision of the world is a little skewed but so worth it. And my conditioning is non-existant at the moment.
Was planning to hit the gym but on my way I stopped at a little dive-shop near the gym and decided to take my first steps towards a life-dream, I booked my classes to get my diving certification. I have a trip planned for Cozumel in January and I plan to be fully certified by then I’m so freakin excited I could do back flips. I’ll hit the gym tommorow. Tonight I started reading the course material.
Yeah for granting your own wishes!

You finally get to an age where you realize that if you don’t do it, no one else will do it for you.
exactly. I’m my own fairy god-mother. sweet ![]()
Snapper speaks the truth. Yay for you going after a life’s dream!

Good for you. I think it’s fear that keeps us from pursuing our dreams. It can be fear of a lot of things including failure. One of the biggest things I’ve learned by starting competing in middle age is that there are still a ton of things that I want to do and that I can do. Good on you for not waiting for some life kick up the ass.
Diving huh? Thats cool! I wouldn’t do it, but it looks like an awesome experience.
I’m chicken of the sea(not the tuna)
I love being BY the ocean, but not in it ![]()
^lol @ chicken of the sea.
I’ve always been drawn to the “underwater” my best vacation was renting a small zodiac boat to hang out whith whales in Tadoussac. Imagine diving and seeing them? It would be like being 5 years old at christmas again - even better cause you don’t have to kiss anyone. It just all looks alien and exotic and beautiful to me.
Started reading about the bobos one can get while diving. I think it might be a way to deter those that aren’t really serious.lol. The only thing that worries me is my constant congestion these days. But it doesn’t keep me form flying (another time when pressure is exercised on the sinus) hopefully it won’t keep me form diving.
I’m taking the intensive classes August 20-22.
You know what else is neat? I’m a geek that loves to learn new stuff. This is totally good for my brain and my soul.
ok cheerios -'nuff gloating. Today I hit the gym. Planning a bike ride for tomorrow. The weather is fab around here too Kimba- sunny and not to warm and muggy. Perfect for a ride, so I’ll be hitting the canal lachine - my usual hangout.
Good for you!
In the same vien, of doing stuff I always wanted to do, I am going to try to go zip lining next week and I am also thinking of signing up to take a belly dancing class, just cause I always wanted too ![]()
yay for doing what we want!!
I want to march upstairs and take a nap…does that count? ![]()
A bike ride sounds nice…I promised my bike I would take it for a nice loooong ride when the kids have there first day back to school…freedom!!
Ronda - way to go for trying new stuff out. I bet the lifting has made my body stronger for the dives and worked your core for some wicked belly dancing:)
MIM- I must say that part of this is trying to find myself during a time in my life when everyone is starting their families. I know it’s not for me but I also get a “twinge” at what I might be missing out. Pushing myself to do these things reminds me why I made my choice rather than mope around. Now I feel renewed and at peace with my path in life. I have a project, a goal that I’m working towards rather than being just another mindless consumer.
hey.
just stumbled upon your thread.
Loving the photography, im a fellow tog. Whats your equipment set up? apologies if youve already listed it and ive missed it.
Im using a Nikon D60 with either a Sigma 18-105mm or a Nikon 50mm f1.8 atm.
The 50mm is the best lens ive ever used and it was only 80 pounds/100dollars.
Great lifting too. We need more chicks bending iron!
Thanks bananas! welcome to my log, lots of lifting and pics and some traveling done in here.
I have spoken about this back but I’ll be patient and nice
just teasin.
I use a canon rebel XTi with it’s default lense 18-55mm. We also have a Sigma 70-300MM that my husband pulls out for nature photography (birds) or races like the F1 if he’s too far out in the stands. Myself I use the regular lense most of the time for portaiture and similar stuff.
It’s a little dated, we bought it 2006 but still works great. I’m toying with the idea of buying the new generation. Also I need a few more items such as lights and such to perfect my portaits. Ahh so much to learn so little time. At the end of the day I see details, stories, people and my husband likes wide angles, panoramas, vistas. Together we manage to put together a pretty decent travel portfolio.
fyi - I’ll try adding something intellegent to the question you posted. The only training I’ve had is self-education so I tend not to respond to those type of threads.
cheers pal
she was so happy with her lifting, and if she lost 2kg and competed in an uneqquiped meet, I think she’d be scottish champion already - just based on the last few meets figures.
I would say dont upgrade, unless you can afford it ok. But a good camera is always a good camera. The nikons D40x is about 8 years old and still one of the best Nikons unless your willing to throw $4k + at a pro model.
I don;t know much about canons to be honest, but if you love portraits id really recommend spending the money you would have on an upgrade on some lights and 1 or 2 good prime lens. the faster iso lends it self to some awesome things like really good DOF control or getting all funky in low light. the 50mm i bought is the best thing ive bought for my cam. Its such a beaut!
