wow!!! nice pictures!! and nice model too ![]()
Thanks for the tip bananas - that’s the way I was thinking too. That will be my next investment.
Brute - Thanks
I’ve posted 2 new ones in the vixen thread for those that don’t wander to the dark side. I bet all the peeps here would make awesome models. Unfortunately most people don’t find themselves attractive enough to be models. I keep telling them my job is to make them as beautiful as possible. Do I have any takers for a free session? you just need to bring your ass up here. I’ll even buy ya dinner and you don’t have to be naked. Fair? crossing my fingers
how bout YOU come down HERE? ![]()
That would be so cool! Wish I had an excuse to go up there.

MIM- I must say that part of this is trying to find myself during a time in my life when everyone is starting their families. I know it’s not for me but I also get a “twinge” at what I might be missing out. Pushing myself to do these things reminds me why I made my choice rather than mope around. Now I feel renewed and at peace with my path in life. I have a project, a goal that I’m working towards rather than being just another mindless consumer. [/quote]
I can sympathize with this. Good on you for knowing what is for you and what isn’t, despite the fact that your choice puts you firmly into the minority. The truth is, there are happy parents and unhappy parents, happy child-frees and unhappy child-frees. I’m just glad I’m old enough that no-one inquires as to my childbearing plans anymore. ![]()
I hear ya, N and I totally envy your freedoms to do so!
I didn’t really ‘choose,’ this path…it sort of chose me it seems.
But my little family motivates and gives me the courage to get out and do things I never would have thought of doing on my own.
I would have liked more time to explore and have more time with the hubby when we first married. So now we are playing catch up as the kids get older. ![]()
MIM- If I could take time off from work I would
And sometime you have to deal with the hand you’ve been dealt, I’m glad you find joy in that.
Kimba - as much as I enjoy my “age” I can’t help but look forward to a time when people won’t question my choices. Family and friends have wrapped their heads around it now that I’ve been with the hubby for 10years. But work especially bad. I’m fully aware that it’s illegal but I must be geting that question “off hand” like every single week. I’m guessing they’re expecting me to change my mind.
All right I made it to the gym - with 3 days rest I figured I would kill it but there’s something about saturday that makes my mind an body rebel against going hard. Saturday’s are made for fun, not tough workouts, chores or work. Made it through. Figured I would kill myself and be freh for some PR next week. I will also try to line up my 3 workouts during the week to keep my weekend opened for fun stuff.
deads
155lbs 1x6 - warmup
185lbs 1x3 - huh! realized something was wrong. forgot my chalk. DOH!
155lbs 1x6, 1x7 - decided to not go heavy and practice grip anyways.
squats
65lbs 1x6 - was aiming for 8 but lost my balance
1x8
95lbs 2x5
115lbs 2x4 b
Bench
95lbs 1x8
115lbs 1x6
135lbs 2x2 - got 3 reps on the second set but the spotter “helped” too much so I’m not calling it legit
95lbs 1x13 PR + 1 rep
pullups 2x1, .75, gave it all I’ve got for 3 but no go.
with 2 bands 2x5, 1x3
everything felt hard and kinda “blah” so I finished with something fun. I’m due for my vacay in 2 weeks.
homemade pull-prowler
70lbs 15x the length of the gym and back.
Now I’m nice and tired and sore. Time for groceries and food.
Yay for homemade prowlers. Very resourceful.
on the prowler front… i don’t have one but have been improvising.
Set the treadmill to about 6mph, and with about a quarter of the full incline.
Walk for 30 secs, then grab the bar at the front and get into a “pushing” position then sprint on the treadmill for 15secs - powering the belt around faster than the 6mph then repeat. its pretty brutal
We all have days when it feels like gravity is working over time. Nice work on bench though. Do you ever want to hit spotters that can’t take instruction? Does that make me a bitch for wanting to whack someone who is helping out? Stuff like that makes me glad I have Frank spotting me and not pulling it off me until I tell him to.
Congrats on the PR, now enjoy your well earned food.

I do something similar. I get on the treadmill but never even start it. I just grab the bar and start pushing. It’s quite difficult to keep the belt moving. Takes lots of effort. Never thought of it as “prowler-esque,” but I suppose it is.
nlmain: how old are you, girl?
I like the idea of using the treadmill as a prowler. I’ll try it next week.
I’m 30 - 31 in January. Young by some standards, old by others. Myself, I’d never go back to when I was 20. I’m in a better head-space today. Here’s to hoping it gets better with time and judging by the sampling of fine examples around here I’m not worried one bit.
Here’s a good pic of my cat Macha that I got bribing her with treats.
hey Banana-let me know if you have a log for me to drop by in. I browsed around and didn’t see anything from you.
You showed up and worked hard. That’s enough for a Saturday, aye?
People expected me to change my mind too. Never did.
I was married for ten years before I had my first. Didn’t want them at all until I was 32. Then woke up one morning and essentially demanded that my husband impregnate me. He thought I was crazy.
I love that pic of your cat.
Nice kitty picture and is that slinky black “evening” wear and what do you challenge yourself to do in it around the house? inquiring minds and all that…

When I hit my 30’s I swore I’d never miss how stupid I was in my 20’s. Now in my 40’s I find that I’m no longer as stupid as I was in my 30’s and have no desire to go back. I’m sure that in my 50’s I will find that I simply had a deeper and more meaningful kind of stupid in my 40’s that I will then swear never to miss.
Kimba - same. Mother nature obviously forgot to install that biological clock that everyone keeps talking about. Kids are something I just don’t get. Cats, on the other hand, are terrific.
Macha is an absolute beauty. I am most envious, nlmain! (Unfortunatley I live in a studio flat with no garden access so, much as I’d love a cat, I don’t think it’d be fair to have one here).
