Seriously, the change is significant. It’s amazing how much harder it is to get below parallel. When I was helping the girls high school team, one girl had problems breaking parallel so we put a band in the rack for her butt to touch to let her know she hit. The band was about 6" off the floor. A lot of people don’t realise that is where your ass will be when you go below parallel.

Seriously I’ve put the rackpulls to the side for a bit now that my grip is no longer such an issue (thank you chalk) I’m giving myself longer breaks between lifting and really busting my ass on gym days. Plus I eat like a pig after my evening workouts. I keep it really clean during the day. Seems to be a good recipe so far. I’m going to keep at it for another 2 weeks. Starting the 23rd I’m on vacation for 2 weeks, planning to do some hiking in the quebec forests. We’ll see what I do during vacation but I’m not going to fall over myself trying to plan workouts. Once september begins I’ll see where my mindset is.

Once one reaches a certain point with lifting, I’m convinced that less can be more. You don’t have to train five times a week to make gains. Also, I take looonngg rests between sets when I’m pulling low reps. Six+ minutes on singles.

1x2 - my chair wasn’t “hinged” correctly and collapsed. The shock really threw the weight down on me. I managed to press it with knees to my chest. Luckily no bobos. I gave myself a minute and was physically fine but mentally shaken. I figured if I didn’t get right back on the horse now I’d be frighten forever. So I placed by badass self under the weight and pressed it. 1-0 for me.
