I want to start incorporating the Floor Press, so that I can improve my bench press mid point.
I don’t know if the 45’s at my gym are not big enough, but when I lower the weight, my elbows hit the ground, and the plates do not. Is this how it is supposed to done? I recall seeing an individual performing the floor press a couple years ago with the plates hitting the ground first…
The elbows should hit first unless you have very short forearms!
If the plates hit first you might as well do pin presses from the same height and these are more stressful on the joints.
