But that’s cheating!

If you haven’t done them before, just be careful on the descent not to let the weight ram your elbows into the floor, which I have done, and for days my elbow joints felt fucked up.

They are great! I haven’t done a full range of motion bench press in years.

What this guy said, definitely. You will also, with practice, figure out how to balance the load so that you don’t have too much force on one side. This happens sometimes with the touch-and-go style, if a lifter presses up too fast before both elbows have even tension. This is partially where the pause comes in handy.

I like doing these with a close-grip.

add chains and MM bands doubled over pulling with a 4 sec pause…

i was wiped after my max day.

I started doing these because of a bicep tendon injury which puts me out for weeks after doing full ROM bench press. I have no problems at all with floor press. I actually feel it more in my chest! Probably doing it wrong lol

I don’t think your situation is unusual or wrong. I also feel it more in my chest(and triceps). Standard bench presses murder my shoulders, whereas with floor press they are barely noticeable. I get far better results overall with the floor press.
