Flip's Training Log...

First off, let me start with some background information:

I’ve been a member of T-Nation since 2007. I was very lucky to find this site because of the knowledge and help it provides. I can’t honestly say that in the whole 2.5 - 3 years that I’ve been a member of this site that I’ve consistently lifted. I started lifting in my sophmore year of highschool with only the knowledge of what my friend had told me. Until I found this site. After a decent year of the iron game I had brought myself from a very small 135-ish to a slightly bigger 155 at the time. Anyways, as time went by, my band had came more of a priority and I had halted on the lifting train and became very weak. Too bad that went to shit. Anyways, from the beginning of my senior year to November of last year, I became HEAVILY involved in hard drugs. So obviously, lifting wasn’t in my mind, at all. Somewhat of an “intervention” happened in early December and I am now sober for almost 2 months.

I have been lifting for about a week and a half now on the 5/3/1 program. I figure that this training log is just additional motivation towards my goal. I also have also been talking to a recruiter and have plans to join the Army. I really want to bulk up as much as I can before I get shipped off to basics. I don’t know what is “required” to be in this training log but I will give all the knowledge that I have of myself. Since I’m in the middle of the program and just now starting a training log, I’ll just continue from where I’m at now…

Height : 6’0"
Weight : 165 lbs

Maxes :

Squat : 255
Bench : 205
Deadlift : 315
Push Press : 185

Today was Chest day of Week 2.

130 x 3
150 x 3
170 x 4

Accessory work was Incline DB of 40lb DB at 5x15 & Cable Flyes of 20lbs in each hand at 5x15.

Tomorrow is Leg day and I’m hoping to really destroy my PR. I haven’t been keeping an eating log but I’m going to start tomorrow. I’m eating as much as I can and it’s not garbage. Easily getting 8-10 hours of sleep and pre + post workout protein drinks with L-Luceine. I also use Superfood as the practicality of me eating vegetables regularly is none. Feedback is appreciated…

Leg day was today.

Squat
160 x 3
180 x 3
200 x 10 (couldn’t get eleven)

I found a big, big problem with my squat. After every leg day, my right leg has always felt more pumped and worked than my left. I had a buddy spot me and I think I’m leaning, for some odd reason, to my right a little bit. Going to try and correct that the best I can… Probably just have to take my time a little more? Or could it be something else? I also thought of pre-fatigue-ing my left quad with some leg extensions. Any input?
