Flex Lewis Getting Ready for Arnold Classic

I’m 5’9’’ and you wouldn’t believe how many people who are shorter than myself say that they are 5’10’’ when they are standing in front of me (strangers/acquaintances who don’t know my height). I always have to stifle a laugh…

I suppose the reason myself and others want to see Flex in an open class is because of his AESTHETICS BRAH. The problem comes when someone almost or equally as aesthetic such as Phil shows up, and he’s not only taller but proportioned just as well. The world would go crazy if the judges gave it to the “little guy.” Couldn’t happen. Now, that said, I still want to see Flex compete in an open class because I do think he would place in a great position.

Plenty of 5’6" or lower guys (usually bodybuilding followers and the “aestheticz brah” fags) claim to be 5’8" (or even 5’9") online. Its the little man version of the permabulker’s 15% body fat; Ive seen quite a few guys on this forum claiming to be 5’8" IRL and they’re as short as my wife ffs.

On topic: the amount of mass he’s packed on to his frame is mindblowing.

I always felt like being too short hurts one’s aesthetics. It’s like they look good by themselves, but next to others they just look oddly proportioned with short limbs and long torsos.

I think if any of the current top 212ers have the potential to place well in an open, it’s Lewis, no doubt. With most of the others, I can see certain areas or attributes not being able to balance out their shorter statures amongst taller and heavier competitors.

So true. I am 5’6.5" but am equal height of many people claiming 5’8’" and am usually only an inch shorter than some claiming 5’9" or 5’10". Being small, my 14.5" arms look bigger than many people with over 15" arms.

So Flex just signed with BSN. I’m sure after being with Gaspari so long, he was pulling in a nice contract each year, especially with his recent wins. BSN supposedly signed Coleman to the largest supplement contract ever (allegedly) at the time of his reign. I’m thinking that they really stepped up to the table to snag the current 212 Champ.

The owner of the gym I go too, stopped me the other day for a chat. He showed me the pic of flex and we had a talk. According to his friend, Flex’s trainer; Neil Hill. The game plan was to win 3 olympia’s 212 and then move to the open class. So from the sounds of it…Were be seeing him up with the big guys soon.
Flex looks amazing, but he is not 5’5. Having met and talked to him numerous times he can’t be anymore than 5’2. I felt like a towering giant next to him and I am not very tall.

To me his frame seems almost 100% filled out to its max. I don’t think he would do very well in the open standing next to monsters like Rhoden and Ramy.
5’2 is fuckin tiny.

I’d rather be a skinny 6’3 dude than a stacked 5’2.

I agree with you, but something tells me Flex wouldn’t trade his Olympia 212 trophies for an extra few inches.

Come on guys, the world needs ground huggers too Haha.

According to the owner of my gym, he is 5ft4" and for the open class they were aiming to have 220lb at or even better than his usual conditioning. I am pretty excited to see if he does go into the open class after his 3rd win. What a show that would make!

I’m sure you would but it’s not as though anyone who only grew to 5’2’’ can do anything about it.

: )

But if 5’2" is only what one has been blessed with, a jacked 5’2" looks way better than a skinny 5’2". At least to me.

I don’t think he’s as short as 5’ 2". I think 5’ 4-5" is probably closer.
