Well, actually I invented some of their advanced swordmaking techniques and also invented Godzilla. Oh, and sushi. This was after iventing time travel of course.
Chardawg - I’ve seen people banished for plenty of questions original or not. I personally think that a newbie is entitled to an answer whether he searched the back issues or not. Hell, I’ve asked people specifically for a Yes or No answer with no explanation needed and been banished to the previous issues and called a newbie. I trust the people on t-mag completely, at least the people that have been around like you and a few others that I know are decent people who really do know their shit. Here’s a thought, give them a short answer and then tell them they should read back issues. Chances are, if they know they exist, and are asking a dumb question then they will never read them anyways so you might as well answer the question or pass by the question without throwing a hissy fit.
Chardawg again, I just read your post and have come to the conclusion that you are right and apologize after some mental deliberation. I am too nice to newbies sometimes. If you recall, Whopper is SINGLE HANDEDLY RESPONSIBLE FOR MY TRANSFORMATION from 160lbs to 190lbs, that is a some 25 lbs of muscle all because of the hardcore info and inspiration that he gave me. Eating a WHOLE BLOCK OF CHEESE?!?! That was the big man, and so it was that that also became me. Gallon of milk as a meal, him too, so I followed. I cant praise him enough. Anyways, i think you are somewhat right, THE ONLY THING I would change is that after one or two people flame, others don’t need to follow. Respectfully ~PorchDawg
Hey, I am still here and I get flamed all the time only once in awhile I get some that backs me up
I guess I got the thickest skin of all. I know what you all are going to say so I am even going to flame myself before you guys even get a chance;)here it goes:
Fitone: Damn it would you please “Shut the F up”. no way jose. Your stuck w/ me as long as this froum is up;)
Oh, by the way guys this a forum. And we bust each others chops at work out love for each co-workers. At least we do that where we work at once in awhile. So, whats the diffrence on the forum?
I was at time pissed off at people flaming me but I learned to get over it and so if people are truelly here to learn. Or, if this is another site for them to post they will either stay and take it all in or leave. Either way life it to short to be pissed off at someone who is flamming on a internet web site come one. Please. Am I contridicting myself here? probably. but like I said if you want to flame me go right head its not going to stop me from posting;)
Fair enough, 'Porch. And just for the record, I agree that one or two flames are quite enough to spend on any given newbie . . . which is why I always try to make mine as scathing as possible. You know, get the job done right the first time. ![]()
And now, we pause for a moment of silence as we reflect on our dear departed T-brethren. We are poorer without them.
Peace.
There are obviously people on both sides of this fence, and that’s as it should be for any healthy debate.
If this thread has at least made some people stop and re-think their actions the next time they’re tempted to fire a viscious flame, than it’s served it’s purpose.
I find it interesting that those in favor of the occassional “flame” often spend far more time being constructive.
A prime example?
Goldberg: even though you’ve mentioned your complete willingness to harshly flame when necessary, I wouldn’t call your flaming “obscene” by any stretch. You do a far better amount of contributing than you do flaming.
That’s just one example. There are many more.
I guess I must go back to one of my original concerns, and that has to do with the REAL purpose of this forum, which is a way Biotest can obtain new customers.
All of our comments, like it or not, are a reflection of the very company we want to succeed. Those who post more often are even more of a reflection.
Flaming someone into oblivion not only might send a future weight trainer packing, but will also leave them with a “what kind of fucking company is this” mentality. They lose, you lose, and Biotest loses.
