Flameout Alternate

Alright fellas, despite living in our current Flameout drought I had enough in reserve to last this long.

I have to re-order something within the next 24 hours to keep the supply steady though.

What’s an equivalent brand as far as EPA/DHA levels are concerned? (I’ll do without the CLA for the time being)

I’ve checked out The Zone brand but it’s rather pricy fro what it is. Any suggestions???

Thanks

My wife prefers cheap fish oil capsules from Costco. Whenever I run out of Flameout, I shamelessly help myself from the “Costco specials” bottle. About 3 times the recommended dosage should be quite equivalent to Flameout.

Until Flameout is back, I’m using Carlson’s lemon flavored fish oil. It’s always in the fridge since it’s what I give my dog.

I think this is the best bet. I usually take 3 pills of Flameout and 4 Costco pills all the time anyhow rather than 4 Flameout pills.

Costco for sure just up the dose until you get the Flameout again.

Right on. I still have half a bottle of some cheap shit in the freezer from the last drought season. 12 caps a day, here I come!

How clean are the Costco pills? That’s been my biggest hangup with buying other fish oil pills until Flameout is back.

NOW brand’s DHA 250 has a VERY similar DHA/EPA amounts. The only problem is that the pills are smaller, so you have to take more (something like 8 or 9 of NOW’s vs. 4 Flameout). Also, their CLA (regular, not the extreme) has similar numbers as Flameout. Fortunately you’d only have to take 1 of the CLA.

I currently have no Costco’s around where I live, so the only other alternative for me is GNC or Walmart. The kind at walmart looked good enough. Anyone have any info on the Walmart brand fish oil pills?

These look good, cheap too.

Thanks!

The Spring Valley Brand (the cheap brand at my Wal-Mart)?

per 1,000 mg gelcap:
EPA 180 mg
DHA 120 mg

I should add that Wal-Mart has several different brands, the best (available to me) would be the Rexall Salmon Oil I can’t recall specific numbers for the Salmon Oil, but it’s somewhere near EPA 200mg/DHA 240mg per capsule.

Do you have any problems with ordering online? If not, there are several retailers that can get you better quality fish oil for not much more (and could be cheaper in the long run)

Re: Soldier Slim,

You’re welcome.

I use the “Super EPA” fish oil caps from NOW all the time…

Nope I have no problem ordering online, infact thats where I usually get all my supplements… I guess its just that I need to know a good alternative to Flameout that is around the same price.

5- Carlson Labs Super-DHA caps and 1-CLA cap per dose.
