I took yesterday off and nothing is particularly sore, but everything is on strike. I’m tempted to take today off… again- now I just need to find a good excuse, haven’t found one yet
Whens the last time you gone 2 days in a row ?
No idea…probably years. Although, some of my easy “workouts” probably count as rest
I have an excuse now- place where I’m getting lab work fine screwed up the order, so have to wait until tomorrow.
Can’t do anything today or will screw with results
I think protein is messing my digestive system. Anyone else get issues with large protein consumption (I averaging about 250g per day).
If I drop either fat or carbs too low in conjunction with that much protein, yes. Fat has to be 80g plus and carbs have to be 150g plus, otherwise I’ll end up fumigating my entire area code.
Good for social distancing! ![]()
Makes sense, thanks. I have higher fat intake, but might need to bump up carbs. I keep carbs pretty low since I am diabetic (usually aim for about 120 a day). With working out more now I should be able to bump it up with affecting my glucose numbers much.
Don’t think I’ve ever consumed that much, but I find increased fibre and probiotics helps when my protein intake is really high.
well, since I am about 280 lbs right now, I am trying to get .70 to .8 g/lb. I do eat a lot of yogurt and just picked up some kefir, so ![]()
Just shy of 100lbs more than me, haha.
Unpasteurized sauerkraut is awesome too. Lasts for months in the fridge, and makes a great side for just about any meat.
Edit: I specify “unpasteurized” because regular sauerkraut isn’t a probiotic.
Confession:
It always amazes me that the 2 strongest guys I follow on the logs get the littlest attention.
This is not a “judgey” thing. But it strikes me as an odd juxtaposition that on a forum dedicated to strength and weight lifting the 2 strongest guys I follow are possibly some of the least well known on the forums.
Yes I do appreciate that there might be a reason for this. And they might not want the recognition. Which is why I’ll not tag them. But honestly my advice to anyone on here is trawl the logs. There are some serious guys and girls out there just plugging away hitting some massive numbers. And just reading their work outs and how they approach things is enlightening.
Please tag. I want to see
I take the view that these guys are quite on this tread and many others. So I assume they are not looking for hoards of followers. So I don’t want to name drop and turn their log into free for all. I’m very protective of other peoples logs. They are a “safe space”.
But there’s a guy deadlifting my squat & bench combined.
Another squatting 700lb (I’ve not seen his log but I follow and read his posts and competition threads)
A guy pressing 350lb over head.
And these are just 3 strength guys I follow. I’m sure there are more. And I skip the body builders. There must be scores of great people on here just grinding away. Keeping it low key.
And I’m in awe of them. And I just feel maybe some people are not aware of this resource. If ever I’m looking for inspiration I hit up one if these guy’s log and I know what’s possible.
I found one… holy shit…
Good guy of the day award goes to @carlbm
“King’s to you”
I think that most of us don’t have much time to be looking through dozens of logs. If guys have a log but aren’t active elsewhere I generally assume that they aren’t interested in the conversation or interaction.
One thing to consider is when someone excels, it is difficult for those who aren’t as accomplished to contribute. What can I add to the log of someone who squats 700+? Maybe tips on how to be fatter and make dad jokes? ![]()
They recenlty closed all the gyms but I don’t care…
I had strings but now I’m free… There are no more strings on me…
Have I mentioned working from home on and off for so long is driving me a little nuts?
I’m in for this
Yeah I can see that if people are not interacting they might want to be left alone. And the time. constrains mean people might not be able to find them. But if people do have time, some of those logs are great.
I think you’ll know the logs I’m talking about as well. I see you in there.
This - this is possibly the biggest thing I get on those logs. I want to contribute - but I would end up saying is “wow - you’re great” 20 times a months and it would get weird REALLY quickly lol.
I guess what I’m trying to say is there are 100’s of active logs. And there is bound to be someone achieving what you want to achieve. And writing down how they are doing it. And I find this to be so useful to me. I guess I’m just trying to share my revelation that there are some unsung monsters on here.
