Yeah!
Funny though- my one friend is a prof. at Drexel, and based on her FB posts, she really doesn’t spend a whole lot of time in the classroom/seminar hall.
She does spend a lot of time in the nicer parts of europe though, having a lot of fun.

oh yeah… those are… well…
I was helping one of my profs turn his notes into a book. He told me to omit what I thought was a very important section. When asked, his response was “I want to use this for the MBA version of the class and that chapter is a bit too complicated” ![]()
I am just a dumb redneck. I can do math, but I do not enjoy it in any way. I took through Calc 2 and analytic geometry in undergrad. The only math I enjoy is counting money and ammo.
The MBA was just something to hang on the wall and garner more credibility. I learned leagues more than any MBA will teach you actually running my own businesses.
full confession: If I end up at one of the more prestigious programmes I applied to, I will likely end up as a prof at a business school and teach at least 1 MBA class… with 0 actual industry/business experience aside from talking to mum and dad
I am almost certain that most of my students will know more than me
I would implore you to get a job for a year or two at least in a business actually working outside of academia.
Even if it is part-time. You will be a much better teacher for it.
Darden forum just got a spicy new thread. Let’s see how this one turns out ![]()
You got me…
I saw the first and decided to heat my popcorn up and wait a little. Could resist replying now though.
I confess my patience is being tested and I don’t think I’m going to pass.
Over the past few days, I’ve had one person ask me to detail the plan for my current training block…called “Chaos is the plan”…
…“Hey man, how do you plan chaos?”
This morning, I had someone ask me if, in the book “Super Squats”, when the author wrote “add 5-10lbs to the bar”, if they meant per side or total
I’ve also watched a few dozen people do “the program” without breathing squats…and heavy pull overs. It’s like a 90 page book: it’s NOT a hard read…
And I just fielded a question from a dude wondering why he’s not as hungry for lunch as he was before now that he’s switched from skipping breakfast to eating breakfast.
Am I just expecting too much?
Yes. The average American pedestrian has fully outsourced their health to primary care, meaning they don’t know what to eat or do unless someone tells them, specifically.
Oh, and it better be a quick explanation because they’re bored and watching TikTok already.
I have a 19-year-old girl living in my guest house currently.
2 nights ago at the gym I was doing the usual of minding my own business with headphones in and lifting. There were 2 young girls milling around me it seemed wherever I went. I dropped my phone and it bounced a little ways away on the ground. One of them rushed over to snatch it up and bring it to me. It seemed a little odd, but she was being nice so I dismissed it and said thank you.
10 minutes go by and I can see her constantly staring at me. She eventually comes back over to me and asks me if I am single. Flattering, but I tell her that I am married with 2 children. And that I am old enough to be her dad. This is where it takes a dark turn.
She tells me she is looking for a large intimidating man to be with because her stepdad is abusive and hitting her at home. She said that is why she joined the gym because she thought it would be her best place to find someone that would protect her. She literally starts crying in the middle of a packed gym.
Obviously, I don’t even know what to say at this point other than to tell her to call the police. She then shows me text messages from her stepdad where he is telling her he is going to beat her ass when she gets home for not doing X, Y, Z, etc. She had some pretty bad bruises on her too. Anyways long story short - I called my buddy that is the police captain of the PD in my area - explained the situation. They looked into it and found evidence she was telling the truth. The police went to her house and supervised her gathering some of her things.
After having my daughter, I have an even softer spot for “children”. She is a child to me. So yeah, I can’t even imagine being in that position. Helpless and powerless to help yourself in many ways in your current position.
The old me wants to drag dude out of his house and beat him black and blue in the middle of the street, but I can’t act like that any longer sadly. I have too much to lose and my own children to care for.
Whole situation seems totally fked up, but sounds like the older wiser you made the right call and it is overall a good outcome.
So… I have Covid….
My confession is that I probably should have gotten tested earlier, but the soreness and fatigue from doing 300 paused good mornings masked any red flags
I no longer feel fatigue. The only real symptom is constant ear pressure/tinnitus, which I would have chalked up to doing paused squats, except that mum tested positive (needed to test to return to China) so I also got tested
Fluids, vitamin D, sleep.
I had horrible body soreness when I had the Rona - Biotests’ curcumin actually helped with that more than any medication I was overdosing on.
You’re doing the right thing.
Buuuut…
Man, its like hearing the wolves calling to come out and play. There are a few people that really do owe their health and well being to the fact that I’m trying to do the right things for the right reasons.
Oh 100%. Especially now with my means and connections. If I didn’t have children, or someone ever hurt my loved ones?
Scorched fucking earth.
I would say that I’d feel bad for that lowlife if he attempted to “take back” his daughter and tresspassed your property, but I really don’t
Gonna be using that line. Did you make that up or is that a phrase that I just haven’t heard before.
Thanks man. Made that up for this morning’s post, but I am sure I am not the first to say it
