Kaz referred to it as “Power bodybuilding”. I dug that.
Social media still likes to slander CrossFit, I hope that changes one day.
Thieves are running rampant on truck and rail thefts across the country.
It is literally a theft epidemic and helping to increase inflation. Law enforcement is usually apathetic to help or actually go after anyone on these because it is just a commercial loss and they have murders, rapes, etc. to deal with.
I get it. They need to serve the public sector private citizens first, but fuck. They need to go back to hanging these thieves in the streets like they did with horse thieves back in the day.
This kind of reminds me of that greedy Walmart ceo threatening to raise prices if people keep stealing from stores.
Folks, the ONLY way to catch these thieves is with an archery contest!
I must be super greedy because I would have already raised them.
A ghetto area near me stole so much from Walmart - that Walmart literally closed… Kroger closed too in that area due to the same thing.
Then both were claimed to be racist for not wanting to be robbed out of existence.
Can I do the archery contest with my Barrett 50?
Sounds like that Walmart and Kroger did a lousy job of stopping theft. Raising prices is just going to hurt the majority. Stupid Walmart can afford losses….
I am curious what the effective way of stopping theft would be.
When I worked retail…we had no way.
Hey so when you get a paycheck, can I have like 5-10% of it every time? Whether it makes you lose your house or not, please?
Hard to stop people just constantly stealing and running out of your store or employees loading entire pallets out the back door on to pickup trucks.
Walmart is a business and if it does not make the profit it wants - it will just close. Businesses exist to make a profit - not to provide you something for free.
If you don’t like how Walmart runs - don’t ever shop there or start your own store.
You close your store - that works 100% of the time.
Like CVS and Walgreens did in LA and San Fran.
Our shoplifters could literally walk out of the store. Our policy was no physical contact. We could yell “stop!” if we wanted to, but that was about it.
Of course - the lawsuits would cost far more than the actual theft. You especially don’t want employees getting killed or hurt.
Who steals from a grocery store when food stamp allowance is higher than my weekly food budget?
Confession: The weights like more me than people and I feel the same about them.

I have no idea maybe more of those receipt checkers or installation of more retail theft equipment in certain areas. It could probably slow down theft.
Walmart should allocate some money into figuring out a well thought out solution instead of threatening to raise prices.
@Bauber Businesses run America and have such a huge impact on people’s lives. Why does it always have to be about profit, I’m sure there’s a way to keep these rich unhinged lizards, and the consumers (common folk) happy at the same time.
Alright - let’s put the train back on track - this is a fun thread…
I don’t know what kind of business/businesses you run, but I recall you stating that you treat your employees well, so therefore I have to assume you provide a good service to your customers.
Businesses like that don’t deserve theft in any way or fashion
According to internet searches, Walmart is not like that at all
As a student of politics, this entertains me.
Why? I’m curious
The thought process that with enough time, money and intelligence we can come up with solutions to these problems is delightfully optimistic.
