Thanksgiving is time to work on the three projects due and study for finals

I love Fall because my favorite things to do are only available in the Fall. So it’s what I spend all year anticipating. Unfortunately, I also hate Fall, because it means the end of Summer, which I really love, and I can’t help but subconsciously dread what I know is coming directly after Fall. So September through November are a rollercoaster of emotions for me.

All of that being said, I try my hardest to enjoy every season and not wish my life away waiting for the next one.

I hate seasons

I wish everything was the same temperature all year, without percipitation or wind.
Transition is costly

AND eat turkey legs.

I like that part

I don’t even get that.

In my experience, the San Luis Obispo area of California is exactly this. It seems to be about 75° F and sunny about 362 days a year. I’m not going to move to California, but I love visiting this area, any time of year.

Weather is definitely one of the reasons UCSD is one of my top choice grad schools.

There are other issues with California for sure, but after 4 years in pissburgh, I can’t wait to get out

I was born and raised in rural western Pennsylvania, and never had a problem with the weather until I moved away to somewhere nicer, then moved back. Then it kind of sucked. That being said, Pittsburgh isn’t that bad as far as cities go, and there are lots of places with waaay worse weather. As with everything, where you live can be as awesome or as terrible as you decide to let it be.

the best part about pissburgh is CMU and relatively low COL

If I end up at UCSD, there’s a good chance I’ll be back

Fall means football. It was still 99 here this week, so the temps aren’t really different yet, but FOOTBALL.

The only thing I dislike about winter is the short daylight hours. I like the cold, and I don’t mind snow removal all that much. Trying to clear the driveway of ice and slush isn’t great, but that’s New England baby. If winter had summer-like daytime hours it’d be my favorite season.

I thought the same thing about Monterey.

Quickly checked a map. They’re not far at all from each other.

Honestly, this was basically what it was like living in San Diego. At first, it was really awesome having perfect weather all the time. After a few months though, I actually got bored of it. No indication of time passing, it just became monotonous. I know that’s sacrilege to some people, and I do definitely miss the 70 degrees and sunny December’s now and then, but I find I really prefer having 4 (mild) seasons

Edit: just read the rest of the responses, guess others beat me to the California point lol

I will, no joke, ship you some smoked turkey legs this Thanksgiving.

I am serious. That is awful. As a college kid, you deserve a holiday meal.

Please take me up on this if you don’t have anyone to spend the holidays with on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is cool because the whole nation gets to see the same football games and enjoy memorable plays together.

Like the ā€œButt Fumbleā€ or Tony Romo messing up the hold on that field goal.

Holy Shit, did you dudes just see that Dolphins punt into dude’s ass for a saftey?

Maybe it was ā€œOff Ofā€ and not ā€œInto.ā€

Thanksgiving is my 2nd favorite holiday focused on coming together to kill a bunch of our enemies!

I rank it just behind 4th of July because BBQ>Turkey
