@TriednTrue So, I grew up East River and in my life’s adventures, did a brief stint as the dietitian for Ellsworth AFB and while the ‘hills’ (Hot Springs, Custer, Spearfish) are awesome and super pretty - the town of Rapid City just has kind of a ‘dirty’ feeling - just a different vibe… I’d say the same thing about Colorado Springs in CO. I’ve lived in Fort Collins and Boulder and loved both. I liked Colorado Springs ONLY for its nearness to some really great outdoor playgrounds (biking, climbing, hiking) and the Incline on Pike’s Peak. The vibe there is just different. I’m probably just weird though. lol
@TriednTrue Don’t get me wrong, WY holds some of my best mountain experiences and has some very redeeming areas and qualities, but then there are other parts that are literally armpits of awful - specifically the “red dessert” area.
Also, one of my more serious relationship (5 years) ex-boyfriends is from WY - so that might have something to do with my opinions. In my defense, his family was legit crazy… ![]()
Confession: Just went for my first run in a little over 5 months. Was much faster and easier than I thought it’d be so now I feel silly for taking so much time off.
Hoping to say the same when I eventually get back to doing direct core work on a regular basis
Well “cutting weight” I’m dropping 300-400kcal for 4 weeks
It sounds like that could be making a show. Training on low cals sucks.

I confess that about 2 minutes ago I was assigned a group project with slackers and this is how I feel right now.
93/7 ground beef isn’t worth it
Might as well just have chicken at that point.
Has a better protein:fat ratio than ground turkey AND doesn’t taste like cat food tho
I confess that squatting in socks seems to be contagious… seen a number of fellow lifters now donning socks only in the squat rack at my gym.
I suspect many have no idea WHY they are doing it, but I’ll take credit for it regardless. Ankle mobility ftw!
Ground Turkey also sucks. Also not sure what ratio you’re going for but you can get 99% lean ground Turkey where I’m at

I mean, I eat it regularly but usually with some other fat source (avocado, cheese, sour cream). I’d rather just have chicken thighs or a slightly fattier ground beef (I know, different macros) and enjoy them than worry about that level of meat leanness.
Yikes. This must take it from Fancy Feast to Friskies on the cat food scale.
I bought it once when the other stuff was out, cats have it better.
Shameless plug but…
Yeah, some areas are beautiful, but others look as bad as New Mexico but with frigid winters to boot. I’ve never heard of the red desert area, but after a lifetime of semi-arid living, I’ll pass lol.
I can relate to having a strongly negative emotional association with an area because of a crazy/crappy ex! Unfortunately, I still live in the same city, so it can be tough to avoid those areas. Ah well, thank God and Greyhound she’s gone.
Amen!
There are times I read these forums and I am reminded that this is a primarily American venture.
And that is in no way a criticism of the American way. Only an observation that it is unique.
I’m here to confess that America really is a unique place historically, presently and futuristically. We are that way for many reasons, but governing this land like Europeans, Asians, Africans, South Americans or ESPECIALLY Australians is not how we gained the historic distinction of militarily grinding our recent enemies into economic, social, and even radioactive dust and then building them back up into first world economic powerhouses, all within the lifetimes of people who are still alive today to speak about their combat experiences when we were all enemies.
Good observation, my friend from across the pond. Keep us on speed-dial for the next existential crisis.
