Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

Minimum is 7.75 here in Texas. So that’s quite good in my opinion.

Employee retention must be great though. Hence the difficult hiring process. (Me thinking to myself: Duh, why else would he have said that lol).

I snatched the 55 lb db. After completing the rep on my left side, I dropped it and yelled “Fuck yeah”

I confess I’m not sorry

PB&J with a slice of cheese in the middle is quite good IMO. I get weird looks, but who cares.

Maybe this is a Midwest thing? The Midwest loves cheese in general.

Also, in SD, do bloody Marys come with a little glass of beer? They do in MN, but I don’t think very many places do that. I don’t like bloody Marys, so no impact to me, but I have heard it is a regional thing.

From the POV of a non-midwesterner, the midwest seems to be the least dairy averse location in the world. So deciding to make a PB&J&C sounds pretty on-brand IMO… Halfway surprised it’s not PB&Ranch

EDIT:
Here’s some more ranch gifs because I find gifs to be the purest form of entertainment

My wife needs that haha. I got her to switch to “light” ranch. It is probably good for a 100-200 calories a week reduction.

I do love trailer park boys too.

There are a lot of interesting foods/recipes that are more popular and or originated in the Midwest that I thought were taken equally seriously in other regions: puppy chow, pigs in a blanket, pąckzi.

But yeah, ranch and cheese are sacred here.

No one does cheese like Wisconsin. I can’t find good cheese anywhere in FL. But i can’t ruin good cheese with jelly.

Now apples and melted cheese is good.

Edit: Beer Cheese is also amazing and I haven’t found it outside the Midwest.

I confess that Wisconsin is my spirit animal if states could be animals.

Imagine a land where the people like all of the best bad things, like smoking cigarettes, deep-frying the byproducts of cheese production, cooking cheeseburgers in butter and drinking all of the beers.

Plus you can even get walleye, and of course they will deep-fry it for you if you want.

Is Culvers from the up there in the mid-West?

I’ve never really used good cheese for this purpose. Just a slice of cheddar or pepper jack. There is a few places in wi that serve fried cheese curds with berry jelly. I really like that combo!

Is walleye available where you are? Lots of restaurants have it here and wi. I have some in my freezer from a gym buddy I have to cook up. I’ll probably pan sear it.

From Wisconsin. Really good burger imo, but their pot roast dinner is my go to. Lots of them around me as well.

Nope, no native walleye in Maine. I know there are a few small bodies of water with invasive populations, but I’ve never fished them and I’ve never seen it on a menu at a restaurant. It’s probably my favorite freshwater fish to eat.

I’ve never ordered one myself, but I can’t say that I’ve seen that happen. I’ve probably been around someone ordering a Bloody Mary the most when visiting family in the Cities.

As far as ranch, and really all dairy goes, I can testify to the high regard to which it is held in South Dakota. I have had a full glass of milk with almost every meal, every day, for the entirety of my life. I’m not exaggerating at all when I say that. My family can go through a gallon of milk a day. It goes well with every meal.

As far as ranch goes, I and every other South Dakotan I know, orders it with every side. I was eating with some people a while back, and when I ordered ranch with cheese curds (another Upper Great Plains delicacy), a NorCal guy said, “you really are a South Dakota boy, aren’t you?”

Dairy. Good stuff.

Culver’s is amazing. Hands down my favorite fast food burger place, although I haven’t been to In N Out, Jack in a Box, places like that. @T3hPwnisher and other West Coast natives may disagree with me here.

We had one random Culvers in a suburb of Houston for a while. It was a lot like Whataburger as far as the onion rings and burgers. Really good. And the concretes were yummy.
