Per media reports, Will Smith went on vacation with his family and his son’s friend who’s banging his wife. His son Jaden set the two of them up. Perhaps I’m just speaking for myself, but if I were to run into this exact set up while watching porn, my reaction would be “eeewwwwww”.
And Chris Rock’s joke was the problem. Yeah right. That vacation alone is five years of therapy.
On the other hand, Chris Rock always seemed more relatable to me.
But back on topic, I confess that I’ve replaced the vast majority of my leg work with prowler work (bear crawls and pushes/drags) and now weight vest work, and have no regrets about it.
What I glean from this is that its ok to make fun of a woman for a disease as well as slut shame her, and if her husband steps to her defense he’s insecure?
I think both of your points are taken out of context quite a bit, but it isn’t worth it to me to continue this conversation.
If your opinion of me has changed due to my bullshitting about people that will never attend any of our funerals, I guess that is something I don’t know how to respond to.
I think someone was complaining in here before about how thin the shells are on eggs, and how precarious it is to crack them w/o spilling egg stuff everywhere. Was it you? @mr.v3lv3t
Anyway, I recently bought organic pasture raised eggs from Costco, and the shells on these eggs are amazingly tough relative to all other eggs I’ve had in recent memory. $7.99 for 2 dozen (might be more expensive already LOL); lowest price I’ve seen elsewhere for organic pasture raised eggs is $5.49 for a dozen (with thin shells).
Yeah that was me. The combination of thin, brittle shells and thick, tough membrane between the shell and insides was a maddening combo.
I wound up getting eggs from a local guy with chickens for a while, but his birds stopped laying eggs for a bit so I’ve been buying the expensive ones (~$6 for 18) from the grocery store with better results.
So these Costco eggs are the same price as what you’re buying.
The amount of “force” (lol) I use now to crack these eggs would absolutely have resulted in egg all over my hand before.
add: I remember watching the same egg cracking tip from Jacques Pepin and Gordon Ramsay -crack the egg on the flat counter so you don’t get shell in your egg; I tried it, egg all over the counter due to the fragile shells LOL
If you watch the line cooks at any breakfast joint, they use edge of a metal spatula to crack all of their eggs. This method has been consistent with both free range eggs (the tough ones) and cheap factory made ones.
Was going to make an egg-head joke about myself but it didn’t sound organic.
I heard (haven’t read it myself) that within the first few pages of his memoirs/autobiography, Will called himself a coward because he grew up watching his dad beat his mom, and didn’t do anything to stop it. (I don’t blame him for that - what child would? Or could?)
I don’t think situations like these are ever just about what’s happening in the present. There’s a whole history of trauma, insecurity and pain stemming all the way back to childhood behind his actions today.
I’m not sure how I feel about the slap, but I wouldn’t say this reaction was purely over a joke about hair.
Line cooks are about speed. They couldn’t care less if they got bits of shell, or dirt, or snot..in your omelet, plus their customers wouldn’t notice anyway.
I confess I can’t believe you just compared line cooks to Jacque Pepin/Ramsay.
I confess I may have chosen some slightly larger than planned rocks for front yard steps/wall I have planned.
The biggest one must be around 200kg… should make for an interesting weekend getting them into place. Might need a mate or two to get the big one into position. Otherwise confident on the other stones. (no machinery required surely!)
Not entirely true. If egg shells find their way into the dish, they’re getting scooped out quickly along with whatever else might be coming out with them. If that costs the customer a quarter of an egg so be it, only had to make that omelette once.
I’m sure you’re right - I’m all done discussing that, though - shouldn’t have shared my thoughts in here, someone who I really have enjoyed talking with over the years seems about ready to leave over it, so I’m getting rid of those comments.
