Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 2)

Need advice: did a pretty hard workout yesterday and ate way too much. This morning I’m not too sore, but pretty tired and my gut feels really off

I’ve already taken a day off this week, should I take today off?

You work out 7 days a week?

6days a week- 3 lifting, 1 harder cardio session, 1 KB stuff (of questionable intensity), 1 easy cardio (basically active rest)

Can confirm. It’s weird. Did not like lol. Shorts and no shirt is the way :ok_hand:t3:

Until you slip off the bench with considerable weight in your hands because you’re a sweaty ass pale walrus. But it does lead to some sweet bar bite if you have good knurling. I have a permanent red line of hardened skin across my back from shirtless squatting.

Yea sometimes the slippage is real. I have a bar with center knurling… hurts so good mane

I have the Ohio Power Bar. Most aggressive knurling I’ve ever used. Love it. Everything hurts and I re-develop calluses in one training session after trimming them

Is the confession here that you know what everyone is going to tell you?

IMO, the OPB has got great knurling, but it isn’t the most aggressive I have used. A MN company called Omni has the craziest I have used, the center knurl is also longer than most. I have one of the bars, and my gym has been buying them, but I prefer the OPB. It is just right IMO. The Omni hurts even with bench. The Omni Deadlift bar is great for singles, but more than that and straps are kinda needed.

You can see the gap is a bit shorter between the center knurl and the outer knurling.

I also have the ohio power bar. Yes the knurling is very aggressive. Once you get used to it bars with light to medium knurling do feel weird.

Knowing you that’s 6 days of hard stuff. So yeah, take a day off if you’re tired

Lol not really.

I wasn’t feeling too crap (as compared to tuesday when I did actually take a day off) aside from the digestive issues. Taking a day off b/c of my stupid stomach seemed unnecessary

Turns out it was. After taking a walk and drinking some tea, I felt a lot better and got in 4.5 miles on the eliptical- nice easy/moderate cardio

Real confession: I’ve been looking for a supervisor for a project for next semester. A professor got back to me and asked me for a timeline and outline of my idea and proposal for methods. I got WAYY too excited, spent a couple of hours working on a mini lit review+ methods outline… and once I sent the email, realized that I didn’t put in a timeline…

I hate the inability to unsend emails…

For next time, most email services have this feature

I have this from squatting in a shirt and have to throw shirts away when the bar wears holes through the back. Can’t imagine what my back would be like if I trained shirtless

Here’s an actual confession for youse -sometime after I turned 50, I decided a pussy pad was better than developing a quasimodo-like knob on my spine; and because I’m high maintenance, I confess I bought my own.

Are you squatting with a texas squat bar, mate? I have never had a hole in any of my shirts from squats. Loads of torn pants though.

Nope just what ever gym bar with centre knurling Is free.

And I was squatting 3 days a week.

Normal bars tear holes in your shirt, The Texas bar tears holes in your soul.
