Sichuan cooking was…an experience… I think the closest I got to legit sichuan was hot pot style where there was a spicy side and a non-spicy side where you just dump in so so meats to cook. Nice to see I could handle the spice, but not worth going back to. I gotta taste some other Sichuan dishes before I make up my mind though

I’m trying to improve my athletic performance which means I’m trying to improve my ability to run.

I pulled both hamstrings (in the same spot) on consecutive steps on my last 75m hill sprint today. FML.

35 years old + athletic movements = perpetually injured

In fairness, I am VERY good at following the instructions of doctors.

But ALSO in fairness, I am a strongman, which means, if they don’t say I CAN’T do it, it means I can.

Like when my surgeon said I was weight bearing post ACL surgery and could walk, so I went walking around the mall that weekend. It’s not my fault he meant “walk as in to the bathroom”

I went to one of his competitions in the Inland Empire. Honestly can’t say much regarding his ability, just know that, in person, he’s jacked and runs a great competition.

When I got the kidney stent put in, the surgeon said no weighted hip hinging. I took that to mean everything but deadlifts… trips to the bathroom looked pretty scary
