Stop it… in the big picture it amounts too nothing.
Take a moment to consider the worst possible things that could happen, not as a result of this minor inaction, but in the entirety of existence. Like high vertebral breaking of the neck and being trapped laying face down in a swimming pool as a result or the senseless loss of a child as a result of a drunk driver.
Then be glad and express gratitude for the insignificance of what happened.

Look, if it were a rational thought, I wouldn’t be posting on a confession thread ![]()
You can’t really out-logic anxiety. In my experience anyway
You can’t buy happiness either, but have you ever seen anybody really sad riding a jet ski?

That’s what I get for following Tao Te Tosh.

Confession: I’m laughing loudly and genuinely as I listen to my sons classroom of 8 year olds emotionally destroy their 40 year old teacher. There is a whole school year of backstory to this, but suffice to say that they wouldn’t be doing this as a pack if there wasn’t any number of pretty good reasons.
I think a lot of the issue with chiropractors is the ease with which they can sell snake oil and not be caught out. I’ve been to 5 bad ones in my life that were total quacks, then found one good one. He’s a powerlifter/bodybuilder and is also Phil Heath’s personal chiro. Actually wants you to be healthy and has the attitude of “the less I have to see you, the better I’m doing my job.” Yes, a huge number of these people are closer to Daffy Duck than to an actual medical professional, but once in awhile you can come across a good one.
Thaaaaaat brings back some painful flashbacks to middle school football. Peeled my ring finger like a banana down to the 2nd knuckle
I feel you on this man. My wife ran away from reality on this subject for a long time, despite me trying to simultaneously cheerlead her and be realistic that she was jeopardizing her short- and long-term health. Seems to have been a bit of a revelation lately, though. She found out she likes treadmill walking and has been pretty good about commitment to it. Magically she feels better and has more confidence (which has some nice, erm, extracurricular effects). I think the best thing was to back off of the subject and let her find her way, at least in our specific situation. Hope you guys get things headed the right direction though man!
So, I am attempting to research info on IGF-1 and it’s impact on insulin sensitivity and came across an article where this is the conclusion:
To summarize, physical activity provides tremendous benefit to the diabetic population and is an irreplaceable part of the overall strategy against diabetes. The information reviewed in this article clearly demonstrates multiple mechanisms through which physical exercise has the potential to reduce obesity, reduce inflammation, up-regulate mechanisms governing physiological anti-oxidant generation and drastically increase cellular sensitivity to endogenous, or exogenous insulin. A multi–faceted approach in which patients use a combination of pharmaceutical therapy in conjunction with diet modification with emphasis on nutrition, and controlled caloric intake resulting in decreased body fat percentage is essential. Increased level of habitual physical activity in moderate measure is suggested, which through safe and adequate application has potential to positively impact the health of those with full blown diabetes, insulin resistance and pre-diabetes.
Seriously? I am in the wrong field if I could be paid for writing stuff like the above. This is only one of many recent (2017+ articles) drawing the same conclusion that “Exercise is good for you”. My favorite statement here is “Full-blown diabetes” - like it is something once can choose to have just a part of.
I listen to a couple of lifting podcasts hosted by good “chiros”. I use quotes because although the hosts are certified in chiropractic medicine, they talk about rarely, if ever, adjusting patients. Apparently most of their work is moving patients through active stretching and range of motion drills, so basically a pt
When I confessed that I wanted to try a chiro, I was referring to the typical quack who’d give my neck a good crack
I swear some angry militant feminist designed the contors of the seat that came with the airdyne. Damn thing puts pressure on the old taint and 15 minutes in my testicles go all pins and needles.
Fuck that… ordered a alternative seat from schwinn. Should be in via Amazon before weeks end.

As a side note… is it my imagination but does any one notice the design ? Which reinforces my theory!
Ah shit…you might lose the nail ![]()
My better half was exactly the same way. She’s stubborn to a fault, so there was no way I was going to be able to push her into anything. Just had to let her find her way and try to set a good example in the meantime. I’m not sure how much the example helped, but trying harder is a no-lose situation.
This is an old injury, right? You haven’t done the same thing again?
Even the alternative seat can do that - its pressure on the perineum. I had numb nuts for a full 24 hours after my first 50+ mile bike ride, and the guys at the bike shop told me it was a common thing.
Now I ride on this style:
I ain’t damaging nerves in my junk for a bike ride.
I just go seatless.
Hey Oh!
If the new one does it… ill give that seat a try.
A fine line between pleasure and pain… depending on your view point.
I actually lost the nail in my left pinky toe after getting it stuck in an eliptical when I was 3.
It’s been 16 years and still hasn’t grown back
I did notice that immediately, because it’s the complete opposite of any seats I’ve seen designed for men.
That appears to be a distinctly female seat. It even has strategically placed support padding.
