Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

Ummm…bed clothes?

What is this of which you speak?

This notion is alien to us on the left coast.

Ewwww… you just sleep on the bare mattress? No sheets or blankets? Must be a viking thing.

I literally sleep on a wooden board

You’re bad! Maybe that’s why you don’t sleep well. They sell these things called mattresses, you should try one.

I bought the board BECAUSE I was getting crappier sleep with mattresses. Even the firmest ones are too soft. The better option would have been right on the ground, but my parents were afraid of it getting “chilly” or something.I figured this one out after visiting my grandparents and realized sleep quality was much better when sleeping on their beds (basically sleeping on a wood board)

And how long ago did you figure this out?

I have a @dt79 line that runs through my head every so often about how the big strong guys get more out of 50lbs curls than weak guys do out of 100lbs. I still don’t quite get it right, but at least I’m trying.

It was most like accumulating evidence over a couple of years. I’d go to my grandparents house and realized that I felt a lot less janky getting out of bed. When we’d go on vacation, I’d also notice that I’d get better sleep on the “crappy” pullout beds when compared to the “nice” soft mattresses.
When I came to Florida bc covid, I started off sleeping on a regular bed and my back was getting pissed. Switched to the board and sleep much better now (although still crap by most ppls standards)

After a long hard gym session I should not allow myself to be goaded into a race with my 8 year old. But i was.

So long gym session, 5 pints (about 2.6 lt) of larger in, race is 20m return. Against an 8 year old that weighs 35kg if that. So the power to weight ratio is well in his favour. Nothing about this screams good idea.

The result. I won, JUST. As in cm in it. But I’ve done some pretty serious damage to my leg. I’m hobbling. And will be for a week. Great news.

Confession - this was 100% predictable and preventable. I would still do it again. I am the alpha male in my house. I will not suffer a challenger.

You’ve not spent a lot of time in Britain have you?

Not if you’ve been using a conjugate program.

Shots, pints, shots, etc. with a true max thrown in every couple of months.

Like anything else, you just gotta put the work in.

It’s not. TRUST ME.It is in the danger zion though. Of 4-8 pints.
Less the 4 pints and you’re decision making skills are still in place.
More that 8 pints and you’re to drunk to do any real damage.
After pint 3 and before pint 9 I am a nightmare.

I was just going to say, that sounds like a good start.

@carlbm never been. Cousin goes to Imperial and little bro got into King’s college though

@SkyzykS
Is this more effective than 5x5 pints, progressing to shots or 5 pints at 5%, 3 glasses at 12% and 1 shot at 50% followed FSL style with 5x5 pints?

That’s what the pros call a “weekday warrior”. Gets off work, spends like 5 hrs. at the bar every night, never makes any real progress.

Shots are for speed, pints for volume. 10x3 of Beam or Bushmills followed the next night by as many pints as possible or ampap then rest & repeat.

Then Saturday is usually test max or conditioning (captain & coke or screwdrivers) and sundays are for rest/active recovery. Maybe some hallucinogens.

:joy:

Are pizza and Taco Bell acceptable as accessory work?

Why would you want more carbs with all of that?

Pork rinds and pickled eggs. Period.

I don’t recall ever writing that lol. But I completely agree. Maybe it was a really long time ago or you’re recalling something that was written by someone else.
