I love food more than abs. There, I said it.

I think atp_4_me and planet_healh might be the same guy lol

I confess that after seeing a couple of recent food posts, I have a sudden craving for avocados

They might be one of my favorite add ons of all time. They can fit with almost anything… and you can just eat them straight up. I like putting a little salt and pepper on them or some cholula green pepper hot sauce… Spoon the guts out and mix with pulled chicken or beef… Mix them in a salad… I love all of it

I’m going to teach my mother how to do box squats even though I don’t do them myself…mortal sin, I know. I plan to use the box just as a depth guide (And not put all her bodyweight on it) and I’ll focuson teaching her how to brace since she’s stuck on this old MRI finding that there’s instability in her spine. Any tips?

What if abs was the food?

If the knees go way forward over the toes and the bodyweight shifts forward it’s easy to turn the box squat into a knee and lower back dominant, toe press kinda move.

It’s kinda hard to see in pictures. But here’s a bad one with weight forward.

It’s OK for the knees to go where they need to go, as long as there isn’t excessive forward lean and tension stays on the hips.

Here’s an impossibly good one.

Don’t be afraid to start with the box High, get a feel for the move, and then lower it a little. Either set by set, or workout to workout depending on how things go.

Bodyweight onto the box is Far, Far superior to butt-touching the box to check for depth. So don’t 100% rule it out.

Going full OCD … actually counting and tracking my cal intake.

I’m talking actual measuring with a food scale. God now i remember one of the reasons I got away from BB in my younger days.

Some where a dog just heard a bell and got hungry.

Is that the Pavlovian response? We learned about that at school. Then the bell went and we went for lunch.

Youtube algorithm helped me discover that I’ve been eating exactly the same breakfast as MiloÅ” Å arčev, only without the pills and that implausibly translated ā€œold butterā€.

In addition, ā€œsour milkā€ is not yogurt.

Whoa whoa whoa, man.

An airdyne last week. A food scale this week.

You ok?

There was some untranslateable stuff that a Mennonite guy was describing to me over in Amish country that seemed about the same.

Basically just milk straight from the cow, left in the bucket and covered with a burlap sack until it turned into that.

And actually, about the same with the butter.

That’s the one. But it goes further than controlling automatic body functions. It can also control feelings. Like Pwn says.

For example - Pavlov responses in dogs feed into PTSD. The idea that some sounds would revert a solider back to a ā€œwar like stateā€.

Totally get that, its a fascinating area, I was just looking for the punchline there though.

sure… its part of my scheme in taking over the world!!!

In all seriousness

Call it a experiment on my end.

  1. want to bring my conditioning to help improve recovering and beef up the cardiovascular system.

  2. Im going ahead and doing a aggressive leaning out until I reach a predetermined level. Nothing stupid just a good everyday training level.

After which I plan on just going into a maintenance level of caloric intake.

Good plan! A leaner, (maybe not) meaner Bulldog. :+1:
