Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

It was table scraps that gave my mother’s dog pancreatitis from what the vet told us. But I don’t know if breed has anything to do with it, though. The dog is a poodle/schnauzer mix. They took it to the vet after hours, had to hospitalize it and the bill came up to over 1K not counting follow ups and medication.

Yeah the whole notion of donating money because someone did somthing that was foolish and easily avoidable blows my mind…

Reminds me of a joke

You know what the stupid redneck said before he died?

Hey yah all…watch this!!!

In someway this incident falls into that category in my mind.

It wasn’t like he hurt himself in the course of his normal training nor in competition. ( mind you from what I have gathered he doesn’t compete in strength sports)

I’m still shaking my head over the one gentleman I mentioned saying people should donate. Since the injury puts the young man’s career in jeopardy. Here I am thinking …hold on! He put his on BB career in jeopardy for views and internet likes.

What i love once those guys reach a certain popularity…

Its almost a free ticket for them to spew bullshit.
Since they have fanboys who will defend them regardless of the level of stupid.

Whilst I fall on “your side” of the argument - YouTube and Facebook likes are now how a lot of guys fund their career into fringe sports. Stupid risks mean more views, means more money, means more time to train and less time at “work”. It really is a bad set up. But I think its hear to stay.
Its also the sort of thing people do for their sports “team”. I coughed up £50 to sponsor a seat for the club I support through out Covid. As a way of making up for lost ticket revenue.

So whilst I agree this was stupid and no one should feel obligated to help. I can see why he did it and why someone might help.

This is 100% why I don’t like giving these dudes traffic. This isn’t any sort of lifestyle I want to support.

It’s crazy seeing kids growing up and wanting to be social media personality as a “job”.

Don’t forget that - this is the new media. At one point in time parents had issue with the children wanting to be journalists / radio presenters / TV hosts.
That said - the heads of the old media outlets at least had some level of responsibility over the out put and the welfare of the “talent”.
Now days with people able to post ANYTHING there is nothing stopping any idiot with a camera phone cementing his head inside of a microwave…

Yes - yes that is real.

I never do, despite how much I want to, haha. Nietzsche rallied against the newspaper.

But at least there were pensions and benefits to be had…

I confess that I really enjoy grapefruit now that I’m allowed to eat it again. For the 5 years I was on BP meds I was told to not even drink beer with grapefruit. Today’s lunch was a hunk of meat (10 oz raw measure) with half a giant grapefruit and I doubt the other half survives the next hour.

Confession:
I’m not allowed to deadlifts indoors. So I’m doing then in the garden. On the concrete slab where my garage will be next year.
But right now I’m reconsidering my choice of hobby.

I confess I love training triceps with a band over using free weights or machines/cables. It gives them such a great pump that hurts so good. I don’t chase the pump with any other body part.

There’s nothing quite like a skin stretching Tricep pump.

I confess that despite having used bands extensively for direct tricep work during lockdown, and feeling both amazing MMC and DOMS from them, I somehow don’t trust them to build muscle as well as actual weights. I have no logical reason for this, yet believe it in my soul

At Levi’s store earlier to pick up my jeans that I had altered

Me: do you have any 541s in gray?

Staff: unfortunately no. We do have 502s though, also tapered, but a little smaller than 541s

Me: Oh I don’t really like it when my pants hug my thighs tightly

Staff: yeah your thighs and butt are more on the thick side. Why don’t you just give them a try?

Damn, these people are good at their job. Thanks for making my day :joy:
