Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

I bought a full cow from a group of freinds that have a grass fed/alfalfa finished ranch. The meat tastes different, and I get the whole omega 6 vs omega 3 argument, but the ground beef does not taste good - in my opinion

The steaks/stew meat/roasts are good tho.

Not to mention - this shouldn’t matter technically, but like, who kills a fucking GIRAFFE? Like, baiting and killing a lion, to me, is cowardly, but I guess some infinitesimally small part of myself can understand the ā€œI killed a lionā€ mindset. But how do you justify killing something that wouldn’t hunt or eat you in any circumstance?

Haha!!!

Why tho?

A big part of me hopes this is because of my post in @Frank_C’s log (I think) about you first fighting a young bear as part of your complicated circuit workouts and drinking the blood for a PWO shake. If that has nothing to do with it, don’t tell me - let me have that thought.

That post still makes me smile

blood is a very underrated food

Its alot like this thread - just a running conversation with no real subject.

The only difference is that this thread is taken seriously, and the Threadkiller thread is just for goofing off, hassling each other and kitty memes.

This thread should really be in the threadkiller thread because this thread is only for food confessions, @anna_5588 and nobody really confessed their food and gym sins here except for a select few. This thread is like organic steam of consciousness.

We don’t just talk about jibblies in threadkiller.

I confess I had this mindset briefly, due to all the stuff about how intelligent pigs are etc.; but then I got over it because they’re basically ā€œnastyā€ in nature.

I confess I definitely no longer eat suckling (baby) pigs, or veal either.

add: I avoid lamb and goat now

Random point -wrt grain finished, the finish part can be months to as long as a year from what I understand, I could be wrong.

they say pigs are really smart - but bacon is really good too.

so conflicted…

They make good pets from what I’ve heard. They will go on walks, and I think will respond to being called.

This @mnben87 - they are disgusting creatures -

I confess that my dinner tonight is going to be grass fed beef mixed into mac-n-cheese topped off with some kind of frozen vegetable I have in my freezer. I’m hoping there’s some broccoli in there. This is going to be a full on Kraft experience, supplemented with some good stuff, and doused in Taco Bell’s FIRE SAUCE. I am beyond excited, and I’m allowing myself to believe I’ve earned this.

What is kismet?

My kid has good Friday off, and we are going to a pizza buffet/arcade to celebrate.

Which is the day evening before a 10 mile race the Mrs and I are running.

The universe is telling me to carb load.

I don’t know exactly. Something about able bodied people, about to exercise, jockeying to get the shortest possible walk is upsetting.

Especially when some jerk off speeds through the parking lot to dash to the one spot you can just pull straight into without turning or anything. All pleased like they just accomplished something. What a bunch of Clown-Dicks!

Or when goons in silly trucks make a dramatic show of pulling past the spot quickly, Braking abruptly, then backing in, reeeal slow-like. Friggin’ Jokers!

I confess I ate 3 of these last night

Enchiladas, baby. Even made the enchilada sauce from scratch - super easy to do, but you’d better have plenty of chili powder because it calls for a quarter cup of it, haha. I dunno if the picture shows how huge they were - there was 2.5 lbs of chicken, green Chiles, onions, black beans, refried beans, and a ton of cheese packed into those 6.

But yeah- end product was amazing.

I sometimes wonder if Japanese food is my favorite because of my obsession with sushi, but if I eat it too frequently I end up having to take a break from it, and so at this point, I don’t know if anything beats Mexican food in terms of continuous eatability. I’ve never eaten so much that I needed to take a break from it.

The first time my wife left me alone for 3 days to go to her cousin’s wedding, I discovered that I only knew how to make tacos.

Which is what I ate for 3 days.

3 GLORIOUS days

Loved that movie. The look on Kevin Spacey’s face when Spock talks about his credentials is gold.
