I confess…
Does anybody really know what time it is?
And
Does anybody really care?
The mention of American Pyscho got me in the mood to watch a “scary” movie…thought of Silence of the Lambs but I don’t feel like rewatching that.
Any recommendations? I’ve never really explored this genre so are there any “classics” to check out? Not a fan of gory or demonic stuff, more just suspenseful…violence isn’t an issue, just not overly bloody for no reason.
The Conjuring.
It’s a song by Pink Floyd.
For some reason, 10 Cloverfield Lane came to mind
Check out Ari Asters movies. Hereditary and Midsommar. Both pretty suspenseful and interesting, way more so than most of the thriller/horror movies that come out.
Both are based around cults, hereditary being demonic (which is why I’m giving this warning), and midsommar… Well… Not too sure how to describe that one.
Also, alien for an absolute classic thriller/sci fi/ horror.
Care about–time?
Went through a series of the “chick” horror or film noir type movies from the 90s that my wife somehow has never seen and I really enjoyed:
The Craft – 4 teen witches, dark, suspenseful, not terribly scary
Wild Things (film noir, not horror) - which started the process because Bill Murry did an interview saying it was one of his favorite movies he was in, but no one remembers his very key part because of two hot chicks kissing
Heathers – the PC police would never allow anyone to make this movie now. Hilarious. Also more of a noir.
Cruel Intentions – got recommended this movie after watching Wild Things. Doesn’t belong on the list, although it’s very dark, but great movie of the era
Se7en – not going to say a damn thing about this movie, except that it awesome
Devils Advocate – exactly what it sounds like
Bram Stoker’s Dracula – Anthony Hopkins
Bob Sapp definitely beat some good fighters while being terrible at fighting, haha. Ernesto Hoost is one of my favorites and Sapp beat him. Still, the size difference has to be pretty significant to overcome talent. My favorite Bob Sapp memory is CroCop breaking his orbital bone, though.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen it but I remember Fallen being a good one.
Excellent movie!
Uhh more like the character but not as good looking
this reminds me of the Chinese MMA guy who went around the country challenging and whipping officially sanctioned masters in various disciplines a few years ago. @anna_5588 might know more but the videos were grossly hilarious. he looks like some 40ish guy who lifts and just took these people out within seconds of the bell because he…ran over and punched them in the face.
I’d love to see that video of you run across it
I confess that would leave said person with no redeeming qualities…
Didn’t American Psycho pretty much depend on Bale’s good looks to “make” the movie?
Yippiekiyay excellent…
Bram Stoker’s Dracula – Anthony Hopkins
Oh GOD whenever someone mentions this movie, the soundtrack starts playing in my head and it won’t stop for hours to days.

Northerners…
I confess that I’ve never been excited to be kicked out of a band in my life…until this weekend. Spent the last 3 months trying to force through a personality/style clash and it totally burned me out on music. 20 minutes after the “it’s not working” text, I was sipping bourbon and playing my own 10-minute rendition of Skynyrd’s Simple Man and having an absolute blast. Things have a weird way of working out.
