Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

Pressure cooked pot roast is much more flavorful than slow cooker in my experience.

probably because you are literally forcing the flavour in rather than letting it slowly seep in

Well yeah.

I like to train angry, it’s not even in the same ballpark. The only issues are keeping the energy going, usually it peaks and dissipates quickly then you can feel drained and you gotta put effort into avoiding looking like a giant douchebag.

@EmilyQ hope for a speedy and full recovery for your husband and that you continue to avoid illness.

We have both. I kinda prefer the slow cooker.

Do you also make your own tomato sauce?

Nope. Mostly just use it for beef and pork roasts. Occasionally chicken.

I use my air fryer a ton. That is an awesome kitchen contraption. I was thinking initially that I would not use it much. It is superior to the microwave in many ways. I do lots of veggies in it, and they come out with a crisp on them. Reheated pizza tastes as good or better than when it was fresh. The thing is so good it can reheat restaurant fries and they taste better then when they were fresh (trying to not get fries though, but they are a weakness of mine).

Ours is quite bulky, so it’s not convenient for daily use.

The most used apparatus in my house is my toaster oven. My mom recently got me a toaster oven with an air fryer function, total game changer

While we are talking about pork and slow cooking, Here is a 5lbs piece of pork shoulder (yes it has been boned and I am yet to forgive my butcher), just lightly seared until it went on to cook for 6 hours earlier in the week.

Originally this was for a gathering but it got cancelled so we had to eat this (and a bunch of other meat) by ourselves. My boys did a great job at helping but the rest was on me. Can’t claim to have eaten the lot (my wife hates pork) but I might give up meat for a few weeks lol

Yeah dude that looks so much better than having to gasp for air through an N95 lol

I looked into these but I can’t work out how they are different from a small oven…

Flame free: I can’t remember the last time I put deodorant if I’m just going to the gym. That being said…

Anyone got any suggestions for a deodorant but is NOT an antiperspirant?

It is a small convection oven. They heat up very quickly and have a more intense swirl of air (I believe those are the advantages). You can pre heat them, but it is generally so fast to heat up that we just don’t bother.

I can make crescent rolls in 5 minutes without pre heating. IIRC, with a traditional oven it is preheat time, plus like 10-15 minute bake time.

not to mention the waste of electricity

Yep. If we bake anything in the summer months, we try our hardest to either bake it on the grill or in the air fryer. The traditional oven just adds too much heat to the house.

You are really pushing the flame free limits lol

Haha. You gotta remember though, last time I had access to a gym, I was in a country where people usuay took a bath twice a day. Thrice in the summer, even.

Seriously? I put in deodorant BECAUSE I don’t want to go through the hassle of showering multiple times a day

I confess I went to get refitted for my suit I’ll be wearing to my wedding that was postponed from last may.

Both the tailor and my fiancee laughed out loud when I walked out of the dressing room. It looked like the pants were painted on, and I was legitimately concerned that I was going to rip through the ass trying to get them over my booty. Ended up having to go from a 34 to a 38 waist to fit my legs.

Unfortunately the shirt still fit…
