Flame Free Confession III: Even More Flame Free (Part 1)

Hey man, thanks for that!

This is the problem here. But in my personal experience, I just gotta embrace the suck for a few weeks until my body gets used to lower calorie intake, then it’s manageable from there.

This is what I don’t want to happen too. Don’t wanna waste them measly corona gains

If I were to follow a low carb/high protein fad diet, I’d go with a tried and true one: the Vince Gironda Steak and Eggs diet. Always wanted to give that a try.

I was excited about steak and eggs, but a quick read says to remove all fruit, all vegetables, all salad greens, and all milk products.

I’ll try it for a few weeks in the future though! Mmmm… steak and eggs

I do not know how much more on the nose the name of the diet could be, haha.

Confession: I’m REALLY not willing to be hungry ever, let alone all the time

Whew! I was ticking through the five or so women here, and thinking “is it me?” But I am neither high nor powerful, so apparently not.

There are several posters I don’t mind pushing to the absolute limits of their (typically very limited) patience. @EyeDentist is not one of them.

Although I don’t think I’ve gotten up to any mischief recently, as I’m (get this!) actually working out, so don’t have as much time.

This isn’t so much of a confession as it is just a training related thought I’m having, and it’s that I don’t want to even think about touching a weight right now.

For some reason, I’ve been having to choke down every meal the past couple days and I’m only eating like 2/3rds my usual quantity. I’m trying to eat my usual breakfast which takes like 5-10 minutes to get down, I’m like 25 minutes in and gagging with every bite. Doing the Joey Chestnut and swallowing it with water. Yesterday I had breakfast and didn’t eat again until around 6pm when I realized how hungry I was.

The only thing I can think of is that it’s some kind of really lame stress response. If it persists I’m sure I’ll have to change how I’m training because I found a good food intake/training combo but if I can’t eat the same I doubt training will be as good.

Could it be related to an heretofore unrecognized change in your sense of taste/smell?

Nah, taste/smell is fine. No other flu or covid symptoms.

I should mention I’ve experienced this before, but I was also living an absurdly hedonistic lifestyle and had a high-stress office job. I do neither of those things anymore and haven’t had anything like this in the 5 years since I made that change. So it’s not exactly uncharted waters but also not easily explained.

Idk if that’s the right kind of positive thinking :joy::joy::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Found it!

If there’s something I can relate to, and found a way through, it’s trauma induced difficulty eating.

But I can’t relate to that.

Not goofing, but I am so country that I really read your post as “we have a field by our house and I caught my S/O having sex with men and women in said field.

And I was like: is this field next to a highway rest stop or something? Why a field?

I’ve had my share of sex in various fields before. The sex can be pretty special — weather and conditions permitting, but seldom a place for consistant banging.

Then I was like — does it have a barn? That’s an entirely different thing. My wife really likes getting plowed in the hayloft with the horses down below. She married a cowboy, after all. It’s a perk. But it has to be spring or fall and cleaned up.

Or maybe he’s just cheap?

Etc.

@whang can confirm: IF makes a huge difference for me. I’m down 17 pounds in 2 months on 16/8 IF, with the only other stipulation being 1g protein per pound bodyweight and mostly whole food. Slow carbs and slow protein before bed, coupled with black coffee and plain black/green tea during the fast really help with hunger. You learn what really being hungry feels like vs being bored.

I still lost a ton of fat; to the point that I had a clear four-pack for the first time ever.

I am now well prepared for the eventual re-opening of gyms in my area!

Nice dude. So you didn’t calorie count while on IF?

@magick I’m used to eating just two meals too. I occasionally snack on midnight though, maybe twice a week

Nope. Pretty much just made sure I hit 1g protein per pound of bodyweight and had fruits and/or vegetables with each meal.

You think that’s a joke but for real I was born with inner ear hearing loss that mainly affects word discrimination. So I mis hear alot and it gets me in so much trouble. And if I don’t have my contacts in it’s even worse.

I’m sorry for that then. I didn’t mean to be abrasive.

Not at all. It’s frustrating yet funny and music lyrics are the worst for me. For example At the end of IceIce baby the lyric “too cold, too cold” just sounds like tickle tickle to me

Oh, I’m bad with lyrics too. Many years of industrial processes has left me with a loud permanent ringing in one ear and unless I’m also looking I’ll hear some pretty interesting word jumbles sometimes.
