:joy:

I confess I don’t have the balls to confess anything like that online, which isn’t a confession of having done anything similar either although I may hypothetically have in a different place and time without the presence of goats, which isn’t a confession in itself.

So the only real confession here is: That’s FUNNY AS FUCK LMAO. Especially the 2nd part.

I confess I’ve grown so bored with doing my own shit during training I’m doing Meadows programs again which actually give me less results than doing my own shit.

Which doesn’t mean I think I’m a better trainer than Meadows. Not by a long shot. Just his descriptions on proper exercise technique to train someone to acquire mmc is such gold no one else comes close.

I’m not talking about form. I’m talking about technique. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read @T3hPwnisher 's blog.

I just know my own body better than Meadows does after living in it for 40 years, that’s all. And what works for ME may not work for YOU.

PS. I’m doing Gamma Bomb for anyone interested. I’ll skip the legs specialization portion and move on to either Creeping Death 2 or Project Colossus. That’s the plan unless I get bored again and start doing my own shit. Or a combination of his stuff and mine.

I don’t do straight sets btw. I’ve done his programs using straight sets before and find old school pyramiding/ramping better and less time consuming while following the overall layouts of his workouts.

I understand his latest lower volume programs follow something similar to the latter, which I think are much better for anyone intending to purchase any of his stuff unless you’re trying to avoid going heavy because of injuries or chronic tendon issues.

Colossus is just the best shit. Low volume, crazy intensity, crazy pump and size results, and lots of fun !

Yeah, I loved it. Just starting off with Gamma Bomb because I did Colossus more recently than that and I really loved the first portion of Gamma Bomb. Hated the layout of the leg days in the 2nd portion.

EDIT:

Dudes, you don’t HAVE to do Meadow’s programs if you don’t want to pay for them. You just have to follow his principles from his articles and add your own shit. I only pay for them because psychologically, I’m forcing myself to complete them or I’ve just wasted my money and I like variety when doing programs or I get bored easily and start improvising my own shit in the gym.

I only started purchasing them to force myself from going too heavy in the past when my shoulder and lower back were killing me.

Hell, you can go do some free variation of FST-7 and get the same or even better results. Just ramp up the sets of the compound movements to 1 or 2 top sets with max acceleration on the positive with a controlled negative. Use the 7s sets to train your MMC.

If you’re a noob, I WOULD NOT ADVISE you to do ANY of Meadow’s commercial programs. You will fail. 100%. You’re better off doing FST-7 the way I described it above. Focus on building technique with the warm up and ramping sets.

Use the 531 progression model for ONE movement per muscle group. E.g, Incline/Flat Bench, Rows/Chin-ups/Pull-downs, Squats, Barbell Curls, Tricep Dips/Close grip Bench. Use the 7s sets for practicing really contracting the target the muscles and building MMC. Don’t even look in the mirror. Just FLEX the shit out of them. If you do something stupid like choose Rack Pulls for your 7s sets, don’t come back crying to me after 3 months.

Not sure if it’s cool but it’s cooler than Black Stone Cherry :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: My most played song was Me Ol’ Bamboo from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang lol

EDIT 2: I was in the top 0.1% of George Ezra listeners

I’m just gonna sit back down lol

Just looked at my Spotify stats.

My top song was Set It Off by Li’l Boosie. How did an old white guy come to put such a song in heavy rotation? There is an explanation, albeit not a terribly interesting one.

But…

Two of my top 5 listens were…

Remember, this is the flame free confession thread, and I am in the act of confessing…

from the Top Gun soundtrack.

Final Countdown?

I only listen to gangsta rap on spotify because I only use it in the gym and that’s apparently what their algorithm thinks I want to listen to. Don’t like it. Can’t be bothered to fuck with the app. But it sure beats the same horrible dubstep shit they put Bn an eternal loop everyday after hours in my gym.

Question: Given the proliferation of airpods, headphones, etc, why do gyms still play music at all? I haven’t been to the gym since covid, but it always seemed to me that 50-70% of members brought their own music. I was constantly imploring the manager to turn down the ambient music so I wouldn’t have to crank mine up too much. (No, I wasn’t a Karen about it.)

I don’t think that’s on the soundtrack. But either way, no. Worse.

I dunno. The employees might go nuts hearing all the grunting and banging of weights without some music. But that doesn’t explain why my gym still plays music after hours when there’re no employees there.

I think it is more for the people who walk into the gym to check it out than for members. Give some atmosphere, just like they do in clothes shops.

All I know is this is what dubstep does to me:

Sure sounds a bit like it lol,

I confess I think at least 70% of Maiden songs are 3 chord variations of Led Zep’s Achilles Last Stand. No, probably like 60%.
