That looks amazing!

Embrace it man. Make a video eating it in your tesla on autopilot while you’re on your way to Breckinridge to shop for apres-ski clothing. :joy:

My wife’s family fries a turkey every holiday (and makes ham thank goodness) and this about the amount of oil it takes to fry a decent sized turkey. It doesn’t actually go into the turkey except the small volume absorbed by the meat.

China learned well from them. Still have nightmares of crossing the roads. I once hailed a cab just to get to a place within a walking distance of 10mins because I didn’t want to cross the fucking roads to get there. Driver thought I was nuts.

One female cab driver in a cab I was in once missed a turn, only realized it after around 5mins, and decided to make a U turn on the same road and go against the flow of traffic to get back to the original route on a FUCKING EXPRESSWAY.

Deep frying a 16-20 lb turkey requires somewhere near 3 gallons of peanut oil to fully submerge the turkey in the deep fryer. You can reuse the oil several times afterwards for things like wings or fish, but yeah - it’s expensive to deep fry a turkey.

I confess I became part-Soccer Mom today and bought a minivan. My kids love it already, probably because - and I didn’t realize it until I test drove it - it has a DVD player in it, along with a ton of other cool things.

I am honestly surprised I’m still alive.
There were a couple of times I tried crossing the road foggy brained after a heavy workout (deadlifts are the worst for this) and literally got brushed by an incoming car.

Minivans are the best. I’m partial to Grand Caravans myself. Stow-and-go seating is incredible.

I had my Honda Odyssey for 13 years and loved it the whole time. Minivans rock. It was honestly hard to not buy another one when the time came. And keep in mind, I spent a solid portion of that time owning a minivan WITHOUT children. I may honestly have another one in my life.

So, besides my car, the only minivans on the market WERE grand caravans. You might have had a better experience, but their reliability ratings are apparently really low - I did a bunch of research on them after pondering why so many of the same model of minivan would be on sale for such great prices. If you say different, I might have missed out, but I got a good deal on a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country with 70K miles, 1 owner, no accidents, and all the bells and whistles. The Grand Caravans looked really nice, though, haha - you’re making me second guess myself.
@T3hPwnisher my parents had an early ā€˜90s Chevy lumina, it was the first car I learned to drive on. I definitely have a soft spot for minivans. Plus, it was hilarious how every person I told I was looking for a minivan immediately suggested SUV alternatives in a pitying tone, as if to say, ā€œwell, if you don’t want the shame of owning a minivan, thenā€¦ā€ and I’d have to explain that yes, I want a minivan, they’re awesome. It’s got a 3rd row of seats, cup holders everywhere, a 4-tier center console that can slide all the way into the 2nd row of seats, the aforementioned DVD player, heat controls for every area of the car, USB outlets in every row, automatic doors, a remote starter, heated seats, brand new tires, bluetooth, a rear view camera, sunshades that you can pull up from the doors and hook on the top to fix glare, tinted windows, it just goes on and on.
The only possible con is that I kept hitting 80 mph without realizing it, since it felt like I was doing 60.

All the minivan talk reminds me of this

100%! People are so stupid about it and willing to give up a TON of great stuff just so that they aren’t minivan owners. SUVs never appealed to me BECAUSE I could just have a minivan instead.

I also learned to drive with a minivan. And I don’t think my parents fully thought through the implications of giving a teenage boy a car that was effectively a mobile bed…

Thanks, that makes sense. Must be delicious. For reference the size of peanut oil bottles they sell in Europe… guess that explains my question, lol IMG_20201128_142943

Interesting, maybe it’s a newer model thing? Mine is an ā€˜09, and aside from needing a brake pad change and some transmission work, it’s been an absolute workhorse. My dad’s is even older and is still going strong.

I know the Town and Country kinda replaced the Grand Caravan after a certain year, so maybe money was sunk into that instead of the Grand Caravan.

It very well may be, and definitely not surprising that the older models are more reliable if that’s the case. Since I was looking for a long term car, I only looked for 2013’s and up with <80K.
