The school year is ending in a few weeks and I don’t want to stop working out over the summer. There’s a Fitness 19 a few miles from my house and I was thinking of getting a membership there.
Has anybody been there or still go there? How is it? I don’t need anything complex, but is it like a soccer mom cardio center or do they have all of the basic stuff? Pull up bars, benches, dumbells, Preacher Curl stations, hyperextension station. Do they have all of that sort of stuff?

Unless someone on this board has intimate knowledge of the Fitness 19 in Illinois a few miles down the road from where he lives, I agree that actually checking it out would be his best bet for quality assessment.
I belong to one near me, and it’s ok. I became friends with a trainer there who competes in powerlifting and he’ a pretty cool guy.
Mine has 1 power rack, a multi purpose cable tower, 3 adjustable benches, 1 adjustable decline bench, 2 upright support bench, 1 incline bench, 1 45 degree roman chair, 1 dipping station, 1 preacher curl bench, and it has some plate loaded hammer strength machines (1 smith machine, 1 leg press, 1 low row, 1 high row, 1 flat bench, 1 incline bench, and 1 seated calf raise, 1 curl machine)The dumbells go up to 120,k and it has a rack of curl bars that go up to 110.
The rest of the gym is cardio equiptment nd life fitness machines.
I went to check it out yesterday and it was alright. They have pre-weighted curl bars, which is nice. Other than that, it’s basically just like my school gym. Their Glute machine has a pretty small ROM and I forgot to check if they have pull up bars, but I’m sure they do… I hope.
I’m waiting until the end of this month to get a membership so that I don’t pay for the month of school that I have left, since I’ll still be going to the school gym.
It’s like 5 miles from my house, so I’ll be able to bike there over the summer if I can’t get a ride… getting home after leg days will be fun.
The people I saw there were mostly soccer moms on the bikes and some skinny guys doing weird stuff with cables. Their personal trainers are also all like 150lbs and every exercise they show people seems to involve a medicine ball…
I don’t know; I didn’t count, but I saw Olympic barbells on flat benches. I don’t use a barbell for anything, so I don’t really care. Well, I won’t be using once since they have pre-weighted straight curl bars.
