Fish Oil

Alright guys, I finally caved in to EVERYONE pushing fish oil and bought some. I got some from walmart that are enteric coated so I dont get the fish burps. Anyway, mine have 480mg EPA and 400mg DHA in each pill. I take 6 a day. That gives me 2880mg of EPA and 2400 of DHA. Thats a grand total of 5280 mg or 5.2 grams of omega 3. The actual pills are 1700 of fish oil per pill, but its the actual EPA and DHA that matters right. I have heard you should get between 4-6 grams a day. So I am sitting pretty good right??? What sort of positive outcomes should I expect to see. I want real life stuff from you guys that take them, not stuff that the companies say you will see. Thanks!

Bro, go into the store and read the Flameout article. That is the best source I can point to, to explain the benefits of a high quality fish oil. Also, consider ordering Flameout the next time around.

I have used Flameout since it’s release and in that time combined with a well rounded exercise, nutrition, and supplement, program, I have gotten leaner and mentally feel quite a bit better then I had in the past.

Take care,

D

I get my shit from Sam’s because I can get a shit load of Omega complex and fish oil cheap. I take like 6 of each a day. To be perfectly honest. I don’t notice any difference. I keep hoping I might. If nothing else my heart should be in kick ass shape.

Fish oil isnt MAG-10. Its not going to get you huge, or make you significantly leaner. It will, however make you an overall much healthier person.

I think the article is called “5 reasons for EFA’s” on here, check it out for all the benefits of it.

I think everyone here agrees there are way too many benefits of it to not take them.

Oh, yeah, Flameout is definitly the highest quality you’ll find.

Well I checked out Flameout and I was a little confused. It has more DHA because guys need more of that. THats cool, I dont doubt they did their research. But, it doesnt say that having more EPA is a bad thing. So I figured, I would get the amount of DHA that they have, but also have more EPA from this cheaper stuff. I know I have to take 6 pills instead of 2 but ah well, thats no biggie to me. Dont count me out of the Flameout yet though. I still may try a bottle after these are gone.

Not sure if any of you know where to find this but for some reason the search function isnt picking up a article by this name. I would love to read it if any of you can find it. Thanks!

Wow you went all out and bought your supplements at “Walmart.”

It’s a shame they don’t have medical services there. You could one stop shop.

Wow, you contributed a useful part to my thread. You could screw off and I could have everything I want.

So people prefer to pay higher prices for the same shit elsewhere. Who knows why…They sell Spike at Walmart…I guess that’s crap too. Stigmas irritate me.

Sometimes a stigma is valid sometimes it’s not. In this case I think it’s valid to pick Flameout over a Wal-Mart brand fish oil and the article explains that IMO. However, if shits what you want knock yourself out.

Yes I agree that sometimes a stigma is valid. But I wouldnt call it shit just because it isnt Biotest brand. True, it doesnt have the CLA in it and maybe doesnt have the “optimal” levels of DHA and EPA, but I have also read tons of other posts from people that say their “off” brand fish oil works for them.

I was just saying that its stupid that…whatever his name was trying to say that just because it comes from walmart and it doesnt say Biotest on the side that is must be crap. Thats like saying that the big name brand veggies are going to be WAY better for you than the walmart brand…just becaues they are walmart brand.

Granted some suppliments you would NOT buy at walmart, but I dont think fishoil is one of them that will do you no good if you dont buy from Biotest. Dont get me wrong, not saying Flameout isnt better, its just that walmarts isnt shit either.

Here is a good article to read about FFA’s.

Also you should get some flaxseed oil too.

While we’re on this subject, I take Omega 3-6-9, seems to be pretty good. Should I be swtching to Fish Oil + Flaxseed Oil?

Stimgas are annoying, but I find stigmatas FAR more annoying. Try deadlifting with holes in your palms and ankles. It ain’t fun, folks.

That walmart stuff isn’t pharmaceutical grade, that’s the difference. check out dr. sear’s book on fish oil as a good source.

Believe it or not we’ve already been through this here. Some thread about “What would Jesus Deadlift?” caused a response along the lines of: “Well, at least He wouldn’t need to use wrist straps”. Sacrilegious?..Yup, and funny as Hell.

Ah, great minds…

That stigmata joke was too funny. That caught me off guard being where it was placed in the thread. Kudos!

I’ve tried several brands of fish oil before Biotest released the Flameout. Most didn’t do anything productive, but I did belch out some foulness and discovered that the right kinds of fish oil are a far better laxative than Ex-Lax on most occasions (dont take bad fish oil at the same time you eat jalapenos, it ain’t fun)

My advice, save cash in the long run and get something out of it while you’re at it and get the Biotest brand. Trust us on this.

You may actually save money anyway by taking Biotest. Find out how many pills you are taking now, then calculate the price per day. Next, check out how many pills of Flameout you would have to take and calculate the price per day. I’m willing to bet it would be the same price or cheaper to get Flameout.

The dude is buying his fish oil at Wal-Mart. That really has no defense. Only a stupid kid would not only admit to buying his supplements at Wal-Mart, but actually brag about it on T-Nation.

Nuff said.

There’s an interesting “coincidence”:

My joints are pretty bad and my knees hurt if I squat heavy, my shoulders hurt if I do a lot of bench presses, etc. However, while I’m taking Flameout (and a bit afterwards) I seem to have no problems with my joints.

The effect, whatever it is, seems stronger with Flameout than with regular fish oil.

I take Flameout when I can, and regular fish oil when I’m hitting the bottom on my wallet.
