Dr. Andrew Weil (obviously not a bodybuilder, but a gifted physician nonetheless) said that he believed that the risks of fish oil supplementation outweighed the benefits due to the way that most fish oil capsules are produced. Is there a particular brand that any of the T-mag staffers use because they know that the quality is sufficient?
Isn’t this the guy that gives diet advice
while looking like one of those “Rub the
Buddha’s belly” statues?
(Not that it’s impossible for someone
to give excellent advice that they themselves
choose not to follow, but, it does give
one pause.)
If what he’s talking about is concern of
rancid fish oils being encapsulated, that
would sound legitimate. I use Twinlab
Dale Alexander Max EPA and feel confident
with it, though I haven’t proven there’s
no rancidity.
I remember seeing an interview with Dr. Weil where he claimed that he cured his allergy to cats with LSD. No shit.
So, those supposedly good deals on the fish oil I see on the web all the time are not good deals after all, huh? What about the Member’s Mark fish oil they sell at Sam’s Club? Would that be ok to use? It is pretty cheap comparing to the Twinlab stuff. Also, there are many Chinese stores on the web that sell fish oil. What about those?
members mark is good stuff. i believe Berardi said that it was tested to be very good compared to other brands.
Consumerlab.com has a test on their site with various brands of fish/flax oil caps. Check it out.
