Welcome back!
james
Thanks guys.
Git- I know right, I’m so used to my dark dungeon of a gym this seems very odd.
Joe- I like DC a lot. I need to do a better job of switching out exercises when I start stalling ie Military press. If you haven’t tried it I recommend it.
James- it’s seems like forever since I’ve really sat in front of a computer for more than 5 minutes.
Training partner punked out on me today for basketball and one of the other guys in my office was going to the Y to swim and I tagged along. Downloaded a free pass and went for a swim and to check the place out.
Honestly don’t know if I’ve ever swam 25 meters before, doesn’t seem like much but it kicked my butt. Got in 8 laps down and back pausing for about a minute between each lap. Biggest problem is not knowing how to properly breath. Kept holding my breath the entire way. On the last lap finally figured out when to take breaths.
Fortunately for me I doubt I’ll ever go back there, WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY over priced and other than the pool no comparison to the ghetto gym with regards to the weight room. I thought the Y was supposed to be cheap? Nearly $70 a month for just me, I’ll deal with the guys who don’t put up their weights and bench 4 days a week to save $45 a month.
DC A2
Low incline DB 60’sx16-7-6=29
Seated DB OHP 40’sx10-8-6=24
Chest supported DB row 80’sx10-9-6=25
Shrugs 225 3x10
Lat pulls 150x10-6-4=20
The word of the day is DOMs. I got lots of them. Legs had been killing but they’re feeling much better now that I’m back from the gym.
Started the day off feeling really good with the inclines -1 rep from a PR then came the OHP. During the warm ups I knew there was no way I was going to work with 60’s, tried a few reps with 50’s too much, 40’s it is and even with those it wasn’t good. Chest supported rows were much better, likewise shrugs but lat pulls, not so much -10reps from my last time doing this. Notice the muscle groups associated with swimming sucked. What ever, it’s just nice to be in the gym again.

It’s strange how even for a fit person who works out a lot a new activity can kick your arse.
It’s nice to see you posting again. This place has been too quiet.
