First Contest

To Blaze and others that are following, here are some quick updates.

I’ve been pretty busy this past week and a half with midterms this week and the LSAT this past weekend, so I haven’t been as good with picture updates/stuff as I usually am, but now that this week is coming to a close (last midterm today), I can get back on track here!

Prep is still going strong, right now, Layne has dropped carbs/cals pretty low and we are ramping up the cardio in an attempt to really shed those last few lbs of body fat. My last weigh-in I was 200 on the dot and my guess is that since the decrease in calories/increase in cardio, I will weigh under 200 come this Saturday when my next update is.

I will get a bunch of updated pics up here on Saturday when I take them and will start updating more frequently as we near the show, which is now 3.5 weeks away.

Some recent gym lifts include:
605 x 3 rack pull from mid shin, 315 x 1 incline bench press, 205 x 8 seated military press, and 455 x 5 SLDL/RDL. Pretty happy with how strength is doing right now, and despite doing HIIT 4 times/week +3 SS sessions, energy is high.

Here are a few pictures just to give you an idea of where I’m at leanness wise. Lighting isn’t amazing, but it gets the job done.

Been working on this pose a lot and I think it’s starting to come together.

Spot on with the legs… Show me some back poses with legs and a front or rear bicep pose.

Stu: Thanks brotha, really trying to bring everything I can.

Swolle: I’ll post both this weekend when I take all of my progress pics.

Your legs look fucking massive. Thats nothing new, obviously, but those pictures are just ridiculous, well done.

Haha thanks Ben, appreciate it brotha.

Allright Swolle, here’s a first attempt at the FDB with the elbows higher.

I snapped this quickly…it can only get better.

Much better work on the rotation to still bring out the lats. But much more asthetically pleasing… compare this to your first picture… I think we can all agree this front double bicep pose is significantly better legs are better too. Good job and good luck. Last time… if you arent already doing this… when in your pose at at the end of poses try to blow out all your air… watch as you instantly tighten up and become more vascular… hard to hold but it will make the difference between a most muscular pose and a shredded most muscular pose. Also stop grimmacing… LOL kidding kind of. Much better though.

I am 6 months out give or take for my next show… Im going to get back to posing at least weekly or bi weekly soon… I too will try to post some video and pictures during my transition…

What weight are you expecting? I will say if you have 3.5 weeks left… Im guessing you will drop 6-8 more lbs. plus water… Im going to guess that you will weigh in at 187 give or take… Good healthy weight for LHW. Should be middle of your class.

Thanks Swolle, I’ll give all of those things a try when I take pics this weekend.

I look forward to seeing your progression for sure, it will serve as a learning experience for me :).

Layne thinks that we’ll end up around 187-190, which would be perfect IMO. My guess is I’ll weigh in around 198 this Saturday, and then we’ll take it from there.

Good shit here Evan, well done!

Are you planning to utilise the anabolic rebound at all, after the comp?

BBB[/quote]

Thanks BBB!

To be honest, I haven’t really thought that far in advance. After hearing what others have done after their contests to best take advantage of the rebound, I will most likely do something to maximize my ability to gain afterwards…what I will do exactly though, I am not sure of yet.

Allright guys, in for my update.

I weighed in this morning at 197.0, which is an all-time low in the diet. Progress is great and I am definitely as lean as I’ve ever been. Feeling great physically and energy is still high in the gym.

Right now, we are 3 weeks out.
