I heard the actor playing Thor is the same guy who was Captain Kirk’s dad in last year’s Star Trek movie.
how could he have played Capt. Kirks dad. this is a fairly young guy. lookes to be late 20s early 30s. i doubt seriously that he could play a 20 yr olds dad. expecially when the guys looks to be in his late 20s early 30s.
Didn’t see the movie, eh?
sorry, i preferred the real capt. Kirk, not some phoney. never got into the new star trek movies.
^^ The new movie is surprisingly good, if not great. The new Kirk is wonderful in that they didn’t get someone to just mimic Shatner, as that wouldn’t work. But if you know your Trek (I am without a doubt the biggest Trek fan on T-Nation…this is non-debatable…I became a fan in 1986 after watching the show and seeing the movies for years…so I’m a fan because of the original, before TNG and the others)) then you see he can seem like Kirk without doing anything hammy. Many nuances and so on that just plain work.

Yeah the movie is really good the Kobayashi Maru scene is classic. I like how it wasn’t the current universe by a new one created for this movie. Also the woman who played Uhura is HOT!!!
Just back from the cinema, obviously Thor had an earlier release date here. Really good movie, Hemsworth makes an excellent Thor counterbalancing his heroism and arrogance very well. Some very funny moments but not too many, just the right amount. The action pieces were very well done and the effects were believable. It is pretty close to the comics so no complaints there. Hopkins is a good Odin. Will def buy on DVD and prob go to see again in cinema.
I watched this last week when it released in Australia.
Fucking epic movie!
They say Helmsworth put on 10 kg (22.5 lbs) of muscle for the role. From the angles that he was portrayed shirtless in the movie, the guy looked like a tank!
I saw ign gave it 3.5 stars out of 5. I think i’m expecting a good movie, but not on the level of what the first Iron Man was. Also, what a bunch of crap you guys in other countries get to see it first!
