I also like how they go all futuristic with the armor and yet Thors Hammer is a fucking cube of metal on a stick. If anything I would have focused and went overboard on a badass hammer instead of the costumes.

Shut the hell up. Never disgrace the hammer. You can make all the “Black people eat chicken” jokes you want, but don’t diss the Hammer.
I have faith Thor fans. I have faith!

On a side note did you hear the rumor of whom would be playing Der Red Skull? Hugo Weaving
Yeah, man. I think he is perfect fit.
He is but I think Viggo Mortensen would also be cool too.
Hmm…I don’t know about Viggo. Weaving can pull off diabolical and sinister better…AND…he damn near already has the facial structure of Red Skull.
Red Skull strikes me as having a PhD in being a villain. Everything he does is with surgical precision. That is Hugo Weaving. Viggo Mortensen is more like a freaking machete. Just hack shit up, plain, simple, and without prejudice.
Clearly you’ve never seen Eastern Promises. He’s cold, calculating, methodical, and surgical. In addition to that, he kills two big Chechens wielding nasty looking knives while completely naked and totally unarmed in one of the most brutal and unflinching fight scenes I’ve seen. While capable of being, as you put it, like a machete, he would only do it if it served his purposes.
You guys are missing the most important element that can make or break this movie. How is Thor gonna sound? Thor has a very high and mighty Asgardian way of speaking. Is this dude gonna be able to pull that off? It can be real easy to make him sound real corny. I think the should hire the people who write for Spartacus Blood & Sand. They are good at writing in that type of tongue. Their just gonna have to leave out all the references to Jupiter’s Cock

You are a costume snob.

Haha think whatever you want bud, I just think they look wack. Hopefully the rest of the movie can make up for it.
redstar144 wrote:
Those costumes look like something from an episode of power rangers or stargate. If they fuck this movie up it could scupper the Avengers film to a degree.
Yes.
Umm I think Marvel Studios is behind this…I think Stan Lee would do everything in his power to get it right. HE did very well with Iron Man 1 and 2 and on restoring the Hulk Franchise. He did well with Spider man 1 and 2 but you have to remember that was before Marvel Had its own production company. I know they partnered with Disney tho and I hope Disney keeps their magic wands and fairydust outta Marvel’s buisness. Thats the only way they’ll screw this up.

In fairness it does look marginally better than this Thor incarnation
After watching this I feel tainted…

Stan Lee doesn’t do anything with these movies besides collecting a check and a short cameo.
I’m witholding judgement on the costumes until I see them under the correct lighting and the shots fully rendered.

That’s true. But Doom is ten times more brilliant and dangerous.
Red Skull’s main weakness is that he is an idealogue. His modus operandi is to rule the world under a single totalitarian governemt, which is never going to happen.
Personally I love the costumes. And the hammer.
There’s a pic up of Odin and Loki too on Comicbookmovie.com if anyone is interested.
According to fandango, with this movie and Captain America Marvel is jumping on the 3D bandwagon. And like others they’re adding it in post production, but according to them we should have faith that “they know what they’re doing”. This fad needs to fucking die.
First look at the new Green Lantern released. It made me LOL:

So anyway, I heard Thor and Captain America are gonna be in 3D. I guess Hollywood has totally fucked me over. If they fuck up the Highlander re-make, I guess I’m done with cinema.
I’ll take my ball and go home.

Thankfully there will still be a 2D version shown in theaters.

haha he is one of my favorite actors so I have faith. He always acts like a jack ass and adds some humor to the movie.
Those first two pics though…? Looks like shit.

Same here, but I have not heard about the Highlander re-make. Who and when is this happening?

Your faith in Hollywood is misplaced. But thank you.
