So I went to the Chiro today – shoulder was out of place since I last benched…no wonder it hurt

Training…

1 July 09 Cardio – Elliptical for 45 minutes.
I did do two sets of intervals(10sec all out/ 20sec slower) There was a 10 minute break between intervals, 5 minute warm up and then the rest at a moderate pace.

6 July 09 Squats

Decided to forgo the suit tonight after last weeks fun.

Wraps

295 x 2 depth good
305 x 2 depth good; first was better than the second one.

Malinda, my shirt’s really tight right now due to the weight class jump. It doesn’t seat fully in the armpits - it’s like I have it jacked for a heavier weight right now. Any advice to get to touch? I touched with 205 or so, but collapsed my back to get it there.

Have you tried wetting the front of it before you bench? The wet shirt will stretch alittle bit more allowing the bar to come down a bit farther. Also, try pulling the shirt up in the back a bit, leaving a wrinkle in the front, making it a bit easier to touch with lighter weight. Give me a call when you bench next, maybe we can figure something out then as well.

9 July 09
Bench training…4 weeks out from meet

115 x 8
145 x 5
160 x 4
170 x 2

I decided to forgo the dislocated shoulder this week, so no bench shirt. Instead I did some board presses to a 2 board
185 x 4 for three sets

Sauna – 15 minutes.

Had my last chemo treatment on Wednesday, so hopefully I can start feeling better, training more and dropping some of this damn weight.

You were able to hold on to weight or even gain some during chemo? I thought it typically went the other way. In any case, congrats on completing the chemo and we all looking forward to seeing what you can do…

Yeah, I gained about 25 lbs, between the steriod (decadron) that they give you to fight off the nausea and well just plain ole not eating right, it was not difficult to put on weight. The doctors actually prefer that you gain, means they are winning the fight ;-).

Thanks, I am looking forward to moving forward at this point. Still have radiation to do, but I really think it will be much easier on me than the chemo.

OK, I totally misread this…I read it as…“Have you tried wetting in front of the bench?” Hehe.

LOL, I have not tried this one, but if I could bench more if I did, so might be worth trying…

I am so pleased the chemo is done. My husband was on decadron as well. He also had two courses of radiation. The first to his abdominal region (his tumor was in his esophagus at the GI junction) and that caused a bunch of nausea due to the stomach being irradiated. It was a lot easier on him than the chemo was, though it was daily and not weekly like the his chemo.

Might make the platform slippery for deadlifting later…

I’m benching tomorrow - mini meet. I’m off my PMS bloat so we’ll see how things fit.

My friends are coming to watch “Torture Lindsay Day.” Heheh!

True – Just means they would have to clean up the platform a bit ;-). All for a few more pounds on the total. Hey it seems to work for Lianne Blyn on Dead lifts.

Good luck on the bench. If you are still having issues with the shirt, try wetting down the front and/or give me a call.

The way my training is going I will be doing the meet raw…can’t get my fat bloated butt into any of my gear and I refuse to buy stuff that will fit me now but I will swim in in a few months.

Either way let me know how tomorrow goes

Will you pull in the same suit? What kind is it? I’ve been trying to get feed back on the Titan velocity but am still waiting for my size 28 Centurian.

Yeah, I will try pulling in it on Thursday. The suit is simply an Inzer Hardcore - nothing special, just the right size for now. If I can drop down a few KG I should be able to get into my Fusion for the meet. I did order a new Dual Quad Centurian and am hoping to get it in time for the meet, as I normally pull in a Titan and squat in an Inzer. Squat in a dl suit and dl in a squat suit…works for me.
