Thanks for the kind words everyone. I keep trying to hit the gym, but my trips are becoming less and less frequent. Hopefully the next phase of chemo will be easier and I will get back to some sort of normalcy in my life.
Malinda
A woman that had just started training with the nearby club started chemo at the end of Jan. It beat her up pretty badly, but she’s now back in the gym, slowly but surely. She says the meds still make her feel gross, but she’s determined to get her butt back ![]()
Stay strong Malinda! Your numbers will be back up in no time!
So, I only have another month! That would be great. When did she finish chemo? I really can’t wait to get my butt back! I miss it. as well as my legs, my abs and my back…they all seem to be missing in action.

She finished chemo two weeks ago. She started her first round the Monday after my meet, so Jan 26th I think. She hasn’t tried squatting yet, just doing some lighter leg press. She was benching just the bar today. Trying to get some endurance cuz she tires really easily. Hers was all in her uterus, ovaries, etc so it hurts to bend over. She compared her ass to “loose baggage” and said she was contemplating wearing adult diapers to make it look like she had a butt again.
How come that is always the first place we lose weight when we’re sick? I had an appendectomy several years ago and I swear I lost 20lbs, 15 of it in my butt after being in the hospital for 10 days. It comes back though, don’t worry ![]()
I thought of you and your fight when I found out this week that a co-worker has stage iv testicular that has metastasized in his liver and lungs as well
He’s got a great attitude though and told me that he would beat me at the 10K charity run our team is running in August…
