Finished Bulking, What's Next?

Hey what’s up everyone? I’m just coming off a successful 6 month bulk. I’m loving the size i’ve packed on except for the fat in my belly/gut area. I began the bulk being fairly lean so the only fat i’ve gained went to my midsection.

I’m now at 6’1 and 208 lbs…I began the bulk with WS4SB and have been doing a 5 day split the past 2 months and NO cardio at all. My goal now is to shred the belly fat i’ve gained and maintain as much size as possible. So what do you guys suggest as I’ve never really tried or even had to “lose fat.”

I’d like to stay up around the 200lb area because I look good at this weight. I’ve estimated my maintaining calories at about 3500 because i’ve been there for about 3 weeks not losing or adding any weight. So would you suggest maybe going down to 3200 calories and adding cardio?

I was thinking maybe still eating the same amount of calories, just lower carbs and higher protein and fat? Looking for advice…like I said I’d like to stay around the same weight, just lower my bodyfat %. Thanks guys.

Gain more weight, believe me, you’ll regret it if you don’t.

Gain more, then cut down later.

I’d maybe just add in some moderate cardio.

umm, get bigger???

If you wanna look good at 200 i’d say get your weight to about 215-220 depending on how lean you currently are and how lean u wanna be

but 200 for 6’1 is kinda small…

IMO, anybody at least 6’ needs at least 220lbs depending on body structure. Anything taller, 240lb or better. That’s so you look like you workout.

Trust me keep gaining. Us guys over 6 ft really need lots of muscle to look great. I don’t care how good your genetics are. There are no guys like 1morerep who are 6’1-6’2 who look jacked at a lower weight. Our frames are just too large.

No matter what choice you make, just stick with it, and do it with commitment. Don’t cut halfway, but don’t bulk if you are going to feel shitty the whole time because of excess body-fat, that is a surefire way to make thinks worse.

Sorry I can’t really say anything useful

at 208 with a gut, you can’t cut to 200 and look good. You need to be around 220+

Yip, can’t say that better myself.

Great job on the bulk and extra weight! Start doing cardio, and if you want to lean up then reduce your cals more, just don’t crash diet and you should be fine.

If I were in your position. I’d just say still eat big. Yet add in some cardio on off days or days you’re real sedatary lol.

Keep bulking, throw in some HIIT, and try to find more of an equilibrium in your caloric intake.

x2 except im 6’2, but now the compliments and noticing is even greater weighing 240

These guys don’t know what they’re talking about.

You’re done.

You win.

Look at Gus’s thread http://www.T-Nation.com/readPhysClin.do?id=1852678&pageNo=0, he went from 210lbs to 173lbs in his transformation. Unless you are way leaner than Gus was at your current 208lbs body weight, you will need to lose a lot of weight to come close to a six-pack.

Depending on how much bodyfat you have, as the other posters suggested you should bulk up some more at least 20+ pounds, (if you want to maintain your current size and be ripped at the same time).

Summer is quickly approaching, do you really want to continue bulking when you’ll have to walk around shirtless on the beach? Just something to think about.

Do you really want to walk around 5 years from now wishing you had actually let your body adjust to a higher weight because you wasted half a decade being more concerned about abs than whether you actually gained any muscle?

Just something to think about.
