Finish What You Started

Betty!

Great job on the deads!

And I dig the new avvie as well ;D

Betty, that is a smokin’ hot bikini pic! Wow! You are definitely rivaling Bettie’s fine figure. The deadlift looked like it came up easy, but I’ve got nothing for you on form. I struggle with deadlift form a whole lot myself.

Sucks about never getting a break from your mom-gig. They have day-care at your gym, I hope! That hour of training might be the difference between kid-icide and letting them live another day.

deads looked lovely to me, your such a natural at this game.

bikini pic is smokin. With that crazy long hair I’d turn you into a viking princess holding fort waiting for the return of the men’s ship, a little disheveled by the wind…ok. I’ll stop now. lolz

You’re DLS look pretty to me. And very strong–that 230 did look easy for you. That yellow color on your gym walls is butt heinous.

Hai MiM!

I wanted to go into the internets and come out on your side, just to be able to PUNCH that chick in the first vid yelling (to a class, I assume?) “GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT!” in her shreiky, nasty, annoying voice. Good lord, throw a 10# plate at her next time you see her, just for meh

Nice lifting, making shit look easy! Oh and I’ll just keep my comments to myself about the bikini pic, 'cuz I’m a gentleman

I should test my max on the main lifts and see whats up. Is a max effort lift when it is a true grinder? where you are straining/struggling/grunting/screaming to get the weight up?

I’ve been in diet mode for so long, just happy maintaining what strength I do have.

Thanks for all the compliments!! Who said heavy lifting makes you look manly?

N- that photog. session sounds fantastic… sign me up!!

Ink- that was Jackie(the director PT lady) who also teaches Spinning…they redid some things not too long ago and turned MY side of the gym into a larger spinning room, and gave the rest us a tiny corner to lift heavy stuff in. redic…pisses me off, cause Im gonna go deaf from blasting my music to drown out the radio overhead AND the noise from them teaching classes.
and yes, your such a gentlemen

Nadia- thanks…and good description of the wall color. I feel the same. :puke:

Just back from my second interview, and I kinda left feeling confused in a ‘wth just happened?’ sorta way…
I met with the lady I interviewed with the first time back in August, originally for a physical therapy aide gig. During that first interview she started talking about this new gym she is opening and she said she was interested in my other quals(degree+ PT cert)
So I meet with her and the owner of several different practices around southern Maryland.

It was very casual, but I suck being put on the spot and my interviewing techniques suck!
They were trying to pull out of me a better definition of what I can bring to the table as far as my degree goes. I was like a deer in headlights. T
hey were pretty much feeding me info so I could come up with something, anything, lol.
When they themselves don’t even have a clear definition of what they are looking for.

Basically, I said, I’m just trying to break into this career thing somehow, and this sounds like a good opportunity to do so!
I was annoyed with myself that I couldn’t clearly describe what a ‘sports management degree,’ entails.

I’m not the managerial type. Although i have some experience being a supervisor while in the military and making sure jobs get done, etc.
Mainly, I’m good at being tasked with things to do and getting it done to the best of my ability.

So now I have homework of trying to come up with a job description for myself that matches what I am most interested in doing so they can try to fit me in somewhere. I don’t even have a job there yet, because there still trying to figure out what that job would be.

It’s all so confusing! lol

I’m still going to apply for the PTAsst. program though. Wouldn’t want to NOT apply and wonder what could have been…

Hey! I resemble that eyeroll! Haha

Good luck with deciphering what it is exactly that they want you to figure out for them. Sounds confusing as hell, and if they can’t give you an idea of what they’re looking for, how are you supposed to tell them that you’re right for it?!

Jerks. Throw a 10# plate at them too, that’ll teach 'em!

you worded that very well Ink!
It’s exactly what I was thinking but didn’t know how to get it out there.

I suppose they like me as a person anyway, otherwise they wouldn’t have called me back
Since they are opening a gym my ‘sports management,’ degree sounds catchy.

None of which I have hardcore skills or experience in… Why did I get this degree again?

Anyhoo, the In-laws made it into Maryland late last night and stayed over in a hotel somewhere.
I have a bunch of last minute errands/shopping to do, bake more cookies, wrap presents and be forced to ‘relax,’ at the same time, haha…

A big heavy box showed up on my doorstep last night and I know what it is! It was on my wish list and I was FULLY NOT expecting anyone to actually get it. It’s a rowing machine!!!
I specifically told MIL not to worry so much about me and spoil the heck outta the kids instead…all I got them was some whiskey and chocolate covered cherries!!

Rowing machine? Wow. That’s a big present. What type is it?

The most affordable one I can find. (like $150)

I use my wishlist as a way to keep track of things I want/that are cool all year long…not specifically, ‘what I want for x-mas.’

Cool beans. And forgot to say, I love your pin-up avatar, so thought you’d enjoy this. She reminds me of you, actually!

I’m with Ink, what kind of crazy interviewing skills do these people have? I mean, if you can’t understand them how can you answer them!

And you’re so cute, “a deer in headlights”. With you’re giant blue eyes I bet you looked adorable. HAHA!

Anyways, you can always view your degree as a general kind of certificate that gives you the freedom to do whatever you want related to sports! And with your other certificates and all your expert knowledge you can bs your way into any position!!

I’m like you, I’m not really a “manager” type, I like working within defined parameters, being task driven, like a busy little bee (its the Virgo!) and I find this also makes me more flexible to do A LOT of different jobs because the skills I have translate really well to different environments. I suspect you might be the same, no?

Freaking awesome on the row machine!!! Lucky gurl.

Ooh I love rowing machines.

Your in-laws are too sweet! I’m sure they’ll still spoil your kids too, that’s their job haha
