Fine Scotch Drinkers REJOICE!

Whisky doesn’t improve with age in the bottle.

Whisky is the second biggest export from Britain.

Auchentoshan is one of my favourites if you get the good one, 18+ years, triple distilled.

Normally I prefer smokey, peaty whiskies.

Warm milk + whisky is actually damned fine. Don’t knock it until tied. ( I meant tried but hell, tied sounds good)

I’m quite sure whisky helps a sore throat or cold.

Luv my Johnny Blue!

Johnny Blue is damned fine and damned expensive

When you think about the amount of gear those guys would have to pack back in the day just to survive in the cold, it’s funny that they were able to pack 5 crates of booze with their provisions.
Priorities I guess LOL!
Hell, back then the booze was 1st on the manifest!

Sweet ass avatar btw
I guess it was survival gear LOL I don’t drink so I never thought of that. I guess without Gore-Tex they needed something.
And thank-you, would you or anyone you know like to buy a used IPF approved squat suit, that will soon be illegal in IPF meets?

chicken and mag,

ill happily share a drink of my blue label with you

Whyte and Mackay think they can re-create the flavour if they get proper access to the cases and they think it will be a bit of beast. Sorry if that was in the link, I didn’t bother reading it as it was in the paper yesterday!

And as it’s my first post, I’ll come bearing gifts.

The link has a newly completed ‘Whisky Map’. It has most of Scotland’s top malts on it and is great if you fancy trying something new but don’t like spending a load of cash on something you can barely stomach.

Cheers,

Q.

I am new to scotch whiskey I just bought a bottle of DeWar’s White Label. You guys have any recommendations on other good whiskeys to try ?

Blantons - runs about $50/bottle.

JD is my normal sipping whiskey, tastes damn good at a reasonable price (but stay away from JD Single Barrel).

I’m not a huge fan of the Johnny Walkers. Blue label is pretty smooth (for $200 it better be!) but I don’t like the taste so much.

I’d pay a hefty penny to get me some of the Shackleton whiskey they dug up.

Wow, I don’t remember typing that. Must have been real drunk, considering the time, and stupid comment in general. HAH.

Can drink Black Label any time , practically no hangover.

Glenmorangie is great but has a kick to it

Give Glenlivet a try. It’s sort of an entry single-malt…not “entry” by price necessarily but in terms of giving you a general indication of what single-malt tastes like without bombarding you with too much peaty smoke.
