Finally Pulled 3 Plates Today

Did 315x5 at 180lb’s 6’2ish

I know it’s not a lot compared to the majority of the lifts on here, but it was a mile stone for me :slight_smile:

but honestly bro, everyone has that day. i remember when i deadlifted 315 for the first time, i remember the gym, i remember exactly where it was, i remember how sore my traps were too. then it was 315x8, then it was 385x9, 425x7

hehe thanks! and yeah, I could have pulled out more than 315x5 but I was just fitting it into a routine, it wasn’t a max strength day. I believe I could around 350 - 360 for a 1rm but I find it kind of pointless to find out.

Also you get sore traps? I never seem to get sore traps, mainly just my shoulders

I almost always get sore traps. Make sure to do the lockout at the end of the pull, when you bring your shoulders back. It is a great traps workout.

Anytime you add more of the ‘Big’ plates, you get a pat on the back… now get back to work and put on a couple more!

In another deadlifting/grip thread, he mentioned he only pulls DO.

prob more now though since i havent done it in bout 2 months.

nah, ive only used straps 3 times.

twice on RDLs and once on shrugs. i plan on using em for deadlifts though on my next DL cycle.
