Fighting on Short Notice

I wouldn’t call it a “mistake”, just something I’d like to see more of, but you landed the left straight every single time you threw it. Throw it more. When you looped it a little it gave him a chance to roll under or catch it on his shoulder, but when you were firing it straight down the middle you were tattooing him with it. Keep hammering that thing.

Good work, man.[/quote]

I was thinking about that,as i come from Karate I tend to prefer straight blows and counters.

I tweaked my right labrum on a hook in the 1st round in the air, talk about luck, i could barely lift my right arm.

Yeah man, that very first knockdown where you created a little extra space to force him to come to you and then smoked him on the way in, I think you could’ve repeated that sequence all night. But you did really well all the same, don’t take it as a knock.

thanks bro. any sugestions about technique ?

There are only a couple of things I would really point out. I don’t want to be overcritical in a forum like this. I am not suggesting that you need more criticism either.

1st You telegraph your kicks, I would have capitalzed on that if I were fighting you. I am not sure if your stance has something to do with that or not but can definitely see when your kicks are coming and you could easily be countered by a good straight punch.

2nd I think you could work on movement and being more mobile. Try working angles on your attacks and when retreating as well, that will open up more counters and let you control where the fight happens. this will be more important in MMA where a guy can grab you and take you down.

The fight looked good, you seemed very aware of your surroundings and was very cerebral.

the promoter enjoyed my fight so much that i’ll be fighting again on february 15th.

MMA, 185lbs, King of Kings style just like Fedor, Minotauro and Arona =)

yeah!

Great job and good luck on the next fight

Thanks, looking forward to get back to wrestling and grappling training.

Last MMA fight i focused purely on it and got my ass-kicked on the standup, dumb move.

It’s official.

My adversary is a brown belt on bjj with 1 MMA fight.

Weighs 181lbs and measures 1,70m

Maybe i’ll finally be able to score a high-kick knockdown ? that would be nice.

15/02/14

One month to go approximately, i’m around 203lbs, measuring to reach around 190lbs on natural weight and do an easy weight cut.

My shoulders are still jacked from last fight, tweaked the right labrum on last fight on december, and last week tweaked the left labrum while rolling. Doing physical therapy on both of them and training mainly wrestling and standup.

pudgy huh? can’t say much, i’m pudgy too.

forgot the picture.

Do you know much about his cross training? Is he pure BJJ or does he have some wrestling to go with it? Unless he’s a stud wrestler just let him run into that left straight all night.

I ended up choosing another option.

A Muay Thai fighter brown-sash(i don’t know how muay thai graduation works), who doesn’t have the credentials as the first one on the ground.

1,72m
185lbs

Seems a good match for my kicks, straight and wrestling =)
