No need, I have read up on the studies on humans. The brain is an adaptive organ, not maturing until mid-20s. It will develop in a way that makes what it is told to do work faster, more effective. If you stress one thing to girls and another thing to boys you will see a difference in how the brains develop.
so can i achieve an IQ of 185 if i was born with a 125?

there are countless cases where men were raised as women and vice versa, NONE of them came out successful. They either got fucked up mentally or decided they want to change into their true sex.

Studies done a twins also show that raised apart, and when met again as adults, their personality are almost always identical.

Step siblings raised in the same house? NOTHING alike.

Give the genes more credit. Environment can’t change everything.

Adult men and women’s brains are obviously very different. What do people keep wanting to make them the same?

^^ for teh lulz

I work in a male dominated field. There is also a woman that sits beside me and does the same job just as well as I do. Due to equal opporunities, she got the job. I’d say that’s achievement unlocked: equality achieved.

What I have a problem with, is us being brought into a room to be counted because management feels that our workforce should represent the populace. Working in a very specific field, where only a handful of fields of study can lead to this career, our hiring pool is limited to those who chose to study this discipline. Our workforce currently reflects the group I went to school with quite accurately, but management was not interested in that.

Since 10% of the qualified candidates are female, a 10% female workforce IS equal, but the radicals are pushing for equality at 50%. I bet the same thinkers wouldn’t push for an equal number of men working at a daycare center.

My wife told me to look at it from a woman’s point of view, so I looked out the kitchen window while making a sammich.

I think one of the main reasons feminism continues to be relevant is because of the sentiment expressed in the above quote. The institutional walls preventing women from advancing in their careers have in many (most?) cases fallen. Pay, adjusted for all factors, has mostly been equalized. Women are making up an ever increasing percentage of the executive ranks. Women now outnumber men in college.

But, if she decides to become a physicist then all her educational achievements have been reduced to, “that’s sexy”. I doubt Oppenheimer got the same comment when he was contemplating his career direction.

As long as men continue to reduce woman to their biology (or perhaps, how a woman’s biology causes a man’s pants to rise), women are going to feel the need to rally under a common banner.

Many people (both genders) consider the sex appeal of a given career. Attracting a desirable mate is one of our strongest drives and often contributes to our motivation to excel. This is a good thing imo.

A women who says firefighters are sexy is not generally seen as being demeaning toward men. It does not drive firefighters or men in general to “rally under a common banner”.

The move to completely desexualize our society is equally as damaging and oppressive as the opposite extreme.

Sexism shows up in different ways. The idea that all big or even just muscular guys are dumb is a pretty common bias, something that appears to be deeply entrenched in our culture.
But do you think it’s possible for us to turn off our biology? Not be attracted to the opposite sex, not treat women that are attractive special? Do you think women don’t do the same with men they’re attracted to? We’d have to be like Vulcans to set aside our feelings. I don’t think it’s possible or realistic. If women were on top they’d be doing the same things they complain about. You also have to factor in relationships and how they shape how we view the opposite sex. Women want to be taken serious at their work, but they also want to be chased by men they’re attracted to and basically treated special by those men. It’s basically about having it all and everything being perfect.

True I think the women are forgetting that men get criticized for their looks too. If you’re going to have a job in a spot light then you have to expect people to take shots at you for everything.

^This was more of a comment about the video posted.

I’m not entirely convinced that the reason there are less women in some of the careers listed in the video is because of influences outside of a women’s/girl’s own interests/desires.

There are just way too many factors influencing a persons decisions/life to say it’s anyone thing. imo

I love my dad. … I do. He passed in September, but in High School I wanted to take Engineering because I wanted to be an architect. Now my dad was an old school Marine. I was not allowed to take the class because so many boys wanted to take the class. Can you even imagine? I of course asked my Dad and Mom about it and I love my dad, but he said, “It’s not really a girls job. Take something else.”
Can you even imagine!!!
Unfortunately I was not strong enough on my own to push for it.

I always tell my daughter she can do what any guy can do and better. I don’t ever want her to think less of herself for being a female. I tell theres nothing she can’t do.

Well, we live in a society where its often said, “oh, you can’t do this or that, cause your a girl” I’m teaching her she can do whatever she wants and be better than others. its not being sexist. I only meant, that just cause someone is a boy, doesn’t mean hes better at something than you. if you find it sexist, tough shit.
I think some can be objective but not all or most. They will still be affected in some way if they are attracted to that person whether they realize it or not. And say they are hired, how are men who work with women they’re attracted to suppose to act? Can’t always be objective. My problem is women want men they’re attracted to to compliment, flirt and chase after them while the ones they aren’t attracted to treat them as equals. It’s an unrealistic expectation.

The way we evolved as humans and the way we’ve developed relationships with the opposite sex have influenced how we see the opposite sex and how we stereotype it. Just like how you made that comment about men thinking with their cock, men have their way of seeing women and it’s difficult to separate it when so much of it is confirmed as biological. So there is likely always going to be some kind of inequality unless humans evolve into some kind of intelligent, completely rational super being. Of course then there would be no emotion, no passion, no excitement.

Maybe if we women wore burkas or something? lol

They wouldn’t have debates of nature vs nurture if we were not able to control/change our biological urges.

It also takes a degree of control to not eat whatever you want too that’s biology too.

People always want an easier way of doing things a magic answer or pill or formula or whatever and as a last resort an excuse so we don’t have to do the work.
