'Feel Good' Supplements and Boosters

Hey all,

Because of the success of the Brain Function Boosters thread, I figured I’d start one on “feel good” boosters. Not so much increasing performance or brain power, but mood elevation, or energy, etc.

I’ll start with the obvious one: Caffeine

I never take this stuff when I’m tired - just when I want to feel motivated and “on”.

Yellow Spike tablets and the drinks have been great too.

Let’s hear some more!

St. John’s Wort

SAM-e

5-HTP

Ephedrine

Rhodiola-more relaxing.

I’m really curious to see how Rhodiola Rosea works in this manner. I’ve been doing some reading and it sounds like it might be a nice pick-me-up, in addition to it’s other effects.

I agree. I think I’ll be adding Rhodiola Rosea to my next Biotest order to try it out.

I know after 2 weeks of use I feel a lot better in general (overall health; not just performance) having used Superfood for this amount of time.

Also, I’ve doubled by intake of Flameout from just 1, 4 capsule serving to 2, 4 capsule servings; this small change made me feel a lot better.

As far as the Testosterone boosters, Spike, etc. go; I have no idea.

However, I’m still trying to find some hard studies into how Creatine boosts brain function. Haven’t really found anything solid yet.

Anyone else have a link?

Having just read more about DHA, I finally took the plunge and ordered a bunch of Flameout. Took my first 4 pills today, when the box got here. I’m excited about that.

I ran out of fish oil, which I’ve taken religiously for the last few years. Since I’ve been off, I’ve felt like I’m really easily distracted and I can’t focus.

I’m really curious to see if the spiked DHA in this sup helps with that. Obviously, I just spent a lot of money on the assumption it will.

5-HTP has been good to me in the past, though there is a huge difference between brands (in my experience/opinion).

I always had good luck with MAG-10 boosting my mood, too.

I’m looking forward to trying Rhodiola rosea, too. Sounds quite good.

When I first started using HRX it had a mood enhancing effect, not so much anymore.

Usually a low carb monster or similar energy drink will do the trick.

Good stuff.

Bump.

Spike tablets are amazing. I can be exhausted, pop one, and feel on top of the world.

On a side note, does anyone know if the tablets are NCAA compatible? I see nothing on the ingredient profile that would trigger a positive, but I’m still not sure that something that works so well could be legal.

Tribulus… or whatever Biotest’s equivalent is. Ie. Test boosters in general.

Alright, last shameless bump from me.

:frowning:

I take 500mg of non-flush free niacin three times a day because that flush feels really fucking good to me.

Guess it’s relative, because everyone I know in real life thinks I’m insane.

And I’ve notice i’m completely immune to coffee, as I drag ass all day long regardless of how many cups I have. Maybe that’s just my job, doing its job.

HOT-ROX Extreme for the win.

caffeine/geranamine combo has worked best for me.
adderall is great because it makes anything fun.

I use rhodiola. Its works but it is more of an subtle effect…definately not as strong as the 2 listed above.

stuff that dont work for me:
phenibut makes me a brain dead zombie.
chocamine leaves me ugly tired after 30 min.

Bump… Someone said Rhodiola use is relaxing? Is this true? If so, is this also true of other adaptogens?

My experiments with memory enhancing effects of gotu kola (centella asiatica) have really helped stabilize my mood. It has an anti anxiety effect. It’s also dirt cheap. I alternate it with huperzine A, taking either one or the other every morning. I have read some good stuff about lithium orotate, but have not tried it yet…

For a good feeling:

Spike tabs - I can even take a half Spike and feel good. If I take a full one immediately post-workout, I feel incredible.

Phenibut - I order this in powder form from BulkNutrition (it tastes horrible this way but the capsules are much less effective for me) and take 1 - 1.5 grams. I take it about an hour before engaging in sustained physical activity (for me its usually rock climbing) and I feel intensely euphoric and I have incredible energy and endurance.

I’m really interested in this thread as well. I just got done cutting and the difference in my mood now that i’m eating a ton is like night and day. Sooooo much more energy now. So when I do finally go back on a cut i’m wondering what kind of stuff I can do to make it not so shitty. I guess my feel-good supplement is FOOD, lol.

I was on HOT-ROX the whole time - honestly, the stuff didn’t make me feel that great. I definitely got an energy boost from it but some days I actually thought it kind of made me depressed. I’m gonna skip it next time I go on a cut and see if I can get by without it. It doesn’t seem that I have a problem with yohimbine since I love Spike shooters.

Spike Shooters are amazing - I have one of these almost every morning actually. Shotgun, not so much for me, but i’ve learned my body responds kind of unpredictably to just caffeine.
